Blanca was interesting and friendly. We had a beautiful drive to the red castle, and basically had the castle to ourselves. After the crowds at the Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna, it was pretty amazing to get to wander quietly through a castle with just the six of us and our guide. The wine tasting was a lovely stop as well. The cave was beautiful and our host was knowledgeable about so many wines. It was a great day.

My Wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Thomas Karaba who was our tour guide in Bratislava. Thomas picked us up from the Loft Hotel where we stayed during our visit. Throughout the full day tour, Thomas was very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable. We definitely learned a lot about the history of Bratislava from him. I would highly recommend Thomas to be your guide during your visit to Bratislava. He definitely made a huge difference to our entire experience! Jimmy Leong

My wife and I recently took a small Carpathian Wine Tasting Tour in Bratislava with our guide Tomas. Tomas was a fantastic guide throughout, full of information, not only on win, but on the history of Slovakia. We toured the countryside at our own pace and were never pushed or rushed to do any aspect of the tour. Our tour commenced with a brief stop in the tiny town of Modra before we then had a tour of the nearby castle. After this we went to lunch at a traditional Slovakian restaurant where we also had our tasting of the local wines. The lunch was delicious as were the wines we tasted. After this we were dropped back at our hotel after a wonderful day enjoying the Slovakian countryside enhanced by the fact it was just us and the tour guide determining how long and what we did. Brilliant!

I took a private wine tour booked through Bratislava Adventures. My guide/driver was Ms Blanka Corna whom I can highly recommend for her knowledge of wine and local history which made for an interesting tour. As I have visited wineries in the past I just wanted to visit two. Ms Corna picked a small family winery run by the Patak family and produce just 15,000 bottles a year. The second was the Matysak winery which produces 3m liters a year so quite a contrast. I found both their ranges of whites to be excellent. We also took an excellent lunch at the Matysak owned restaurant Vinum Galeria Bozen in the village of Pezinok in the heart of the wine region. I have a professional interest in wine but for those with just a passing interest this is an excellent tour.

We had a rental car and thought we would just "take the tour on our own". Lets just say nothing is marked very well and signage is minimal. Most of the wineries are not easy to locate. Some look like people's houses. The first one we found with GPS guidance was a 6x8 room, we moved on, and found another that was a little quaint and we did some minor tasting, but theses wineries are not what you expect if you have ever been to a US winery. No big fancy buildings or big tasting rooms. Totally a different experience...not a bad experience, just different. This is one case where I think I would advise to take an organized tour because of the time we wasted just trying to find the places.
