My girlfriend and I took part in the communism tour led by Janki. She was a SUPERB tour guide. She took us through the city, stopping at key landmarks/points of interest to educate the group on the Slovak communist regime. She had fantastic English and articulated herself clearly. The tour was very well researched and structured so as to give a comprehensive view of communist Slovakia and also of the city in its modern state. Janki used anecdotes and personal experience of her time in Bratislava which enriched the value of the tour. I would wholeheartedly recommend this experience as it gives you an insight into the rich history of Bratislava in a more interactive and personal way that the museums, which although very good (especially the City of Bratislava Museum), cannot provide. Also, Janki gave us a list of things to see/do, as well as a fantastic restaurant recommendation which was also, SUPERB

Our Tour Guide, Annamaria was amazing. Her English was very good and she really gave us an insight into the history of Slovakia. I do many walking tours but I was really impressed how she conducted the tour and provided us with insight into what happened to Slovakia through the years. We were taken to the popular sights and she gave us handy tips on where to eat. What I appreciated about her, is that we all understand the tour guides work on tips but she never pushed the idea on how much we must pay or should pay. She was humble and very gracious at the end of the tour. A must to be taken on this tour:)

I only spent 2 days in Bratislava and after seeing most sights the first day, I decided to join the free tour before leaving town. Our guide was named Palo and had excellent English and loads of interesting information to share about the city's history, culture and language. It was really enjoyable and the 2 hours seemed to go by in an instant! I definitely recommend the tour whether you are travelling solo or in a group, and in Bratislava for just one day or longer. It will definitely add to your experience.

I’m only visiting Bratislava for the day and I decided to start out with a walking tour. Dominika was our guide and she was fun and energetic! She gave us a lot of I retesting history on the city and it was fun to hear her stories. I would highly recommend this tour, you see a lot of the high lights and she ended with a great list of suggestions for us which was super helpful!

It was -1 degrees outside but I enjoyed the whole tour! Our tour guide, Annamarie, was very insightful with all the information shared. There was a good amount of history which i appreciates! She was also mindful on how freezing cold it was outside so we did some indoor pit stops that made a huge difference.
If only i stayed in Bratislava a bit longer, i would join them on another tour! 10/10 would recommend this walking tour.

We did the original tour with Simona and the castle tour with Sasha on successive days and both were excellent. They were both very knowledgeable and we learned so much about every aspect of Bratislava and its history. Both young women added anecdotes from their own personal family histories which enhanced the enjoyment and authenticity of what they told us. Both tours lasted 2 - 3 hours and all in all it was time very well spent.

First time in Bratislava, the tour gave us lots of hints about the history, culture and food about bratislava and Slovak people. The guide, Mikaela, was fantastic and she did catch our attention, managing to let dig deep in the most important events occurred in the recent Slovak history. I do recommend it

As we were traveling around Europe we would spend just a day in Bratislava so a city tour seemed the best way to explore the town. Be Free tours were very well organised.
Simona was our tour guide and she was great!! She gave us a great tour while keeping it very interesting giving many information not just for the history but also for the local traditions. A freezing snowy day but we really enjoyed it!!
Simona well done, you are very good at what you do!!!

Annamaria was our tour guide. She was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She has lived in the city her entire life and was able to bring a personal touch to the tour that really added to our experience. There was a nice mix of visiting local businesses as well as popular tourist attractions. It was the perfect amount of walking. Really great experience, highly recommend!

The best choice to make while being in Bratislava, if you want to meet the history and culture! Very nice and carefully designed walking tours to let you enjoy the most important parts of the city. Sasha, our guide, was very well informed about the monuments and the history of the city, gave us a great time and a great deal of advise of where to find the best food and drinks, where to go shopping and what to look for while being there. Don't miss it, it's probably the best activity you're going to get!

El recorrido por Bratislava fue muy agradable y Felipe nos contó muchas cosas de los eslovacos. Además también nos recomendó un restaurante para probar la comida típica y fue espectacular.

What is the average number of people in this walking tour?
Written 22 July 2019
there was about 20 people the time I did it, in June 2019. I think the morning tour gets more footfall than the afternoon one though
