Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
Really incredible tour, definitely worth doing. Our guide, Brano, was friendly, funny, and personable. We enjoyed hearing about his personal experiences growing up and living in Bratislava. We got to see lots of spots in Bratislava that we never would have seen otherwise and we found the buildings and history very interesting. We do not ever book tours when we are on vacation, but made an exception for this one, and we are very glad we did!

Today we had a great tour at Devin's Castle and a 5km hike around the area together with Peter our tour guide. Highly recommended.. shared with us Slovakian sweets and apple brandy for the cold weather... so nice of him😊

First of all I have to say that this company was super responsive when we contacted them prior to our tour with some questions and they got back to us within hours. They also offered to pick us up at our hotel ( which was not one of the normal pick up points) which was much appreciated. Our guide Brano was SUPER ! He was on time and went out of his way to explain what Bratislava was like during the communist time. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We visited many different places and the time flew !I can recommend this tour and this company whole heartedly. It was a great experience and we felt so well taken care of. The next time we go to Bratislava we will certainly book with Authentic Slovakia again. Thank you !!!!

Our guide (sorry, can't remember his name) was very personable and very knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. We learned so much new information about the history of Slovakia and its neighbors and the impact of the various forms of government on daily life. His picture book and stories made it all very real. He drove us around the city and visited many interesting sites, some with incredible views. Highly recommended!

Our guide Brano presented us parts of the city and it‘s recent history in an extremely charming way and with a really good sense of humour. We enjoyed the insights into the recent history of Bratislava and Slovakia that Brano provided for us with a lot of enthusiasm. We really liked the idea of driving with a historical car from one historic place to the other. I strongly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in the recent history of Slovakia.

Maros was a fantastic guide, and he drove us by Skoda and transported us by stories and facts to so many fascinating places and times. Our hope was to get a window into life and attitudes and thought during Soviet times and our hope was completely fulfilled. Maros is personable, fun, well prepared, thoughtful, open to questions and discussion, frank and respectful. We recommend this tour without reservation. And it was fun to see how other drivers and pedestrians looked at us in our stylish Skoda!

I did the Post Communism tour. Maros was extremely passionate and knowledgable. He gave up even more of his time than stated in order to fit in as much as possible and dropped me at the station afterwards. He really went above and beyond and the tour itself was first class. Would highly recommend to anyone spending a day or more in Bratislava, it was the best thing I did by a mile

We were picked up by our guide Lukas appropriately in a little red Skoda car and were driven around various post Russian occupation/ Communist relics of that era. We visited prefabricated housing apartments erected cheaply and quickly by the Russian (a reference to Lego Land was mentioned), an assembly park where a recently renovated and rejuvenated fountain was again in operation, a national cultural monument & military cemetery located on a hill overlooking Bratislava and across into Austria across the Danube River, the Slovakia/Austrian border and saw one of the bunkers installed as preparation to repel the Nazi WWII occupation. Lukas was very insightful and informative in regards to his perspective of the Post-Communist era. So pleased we elected to do this tour.

We spent two nights in Bratislava en route Budapest from Prague. This was the perfect tour for our cathedral/castle weary brains. Our guide Maroš was terrific, really gracious and knowledgeable. We learned so much about the communist and post communist era, and about the region. The sites we visited were a thoughtful combination that well illustrated how the city and the people moved through the changes in regimes. And we got really great snacks!!
