My wife and I visited Bratislava in an effort to try and discover some details about my mother's family history, she having been born in Slovakia over a hundred years ago
By chance we were put in contact with Michael from Trip To Slovakia.
This was a very personal journey for me and without exaggerating Michael made enquiries from dozens of sources to track down the places of my mother's history including the Bratislava city archives, visiting the records office in Blazov in southern Slovakia and Nove Mesto Nad Vahom in northern Slovakia.
Over a period of 3 days he drove us to all of these places and used his local knowledge to ensure that I had an amazingly successful outcome.
I realise that this is a slightly unusual review but I truly wanted to emphasise the fact that even when embarking on such a different type of trip Michael was exceptional.
If you want such professional service for any tours in Slovakia then you should look no further than Michael at Trip to Slovakia

We, 3 friends, booked a day trip with Michal to Banska Stiavnica for 3. June 24.
Before the trip and during the booking process, Michal was very responsive and answered all the questions in a timely manner.
The trip itself was well planned and organized and we had a fantastic time with him. He knows hidden places in Banska Stiavnica that were amazing and was always flexible to cater to our requests.
Michal is reliable and on time and very professional while keeping his humor.

We had an amazing trip organised by Trip in Slovakia. Michal and his driver were extremely service-minded and great company. They adapted the entire trip to our wishes and fitness level. The trip exceeded our expectations. We saw more of Slovakia than we expected.
On the first day we hiked Súlov Rocks and visited Orava castle. Day two we hiked in Malá Fatra National Park and on the way to Bratislava we visited Čičmany folk architecture village.
Highly recommended!

I did the guided tour to 'Devín castle, Iron curtain and National nature reserve "Devínska Kobyla"' last week. It was really nice! If you are staying a few days in Bratislava, I highly recommend this tour to discover the surroundings, I think it is a good combination with a city trip. Michal is a great guide, informative and answering all the questions, many thanks for your tips & energy! Don't hesitate to book a tour with 'Trip in Slovakia'!

This is THE best tour company if you're looking to get the most out of Slovakia! My friends and I went on a one week trip with Michal through Bratislava, High Tatras, and Central Slovakia, and Michal met every expectation we had. Our trip started off with a visit to the historical Bojnice Castle on our way to High Tatras, where we went up in cable cars to the second highest peak of Slovakia, Lomnický štít peak. We hiked around and raced on mountain carts, and spent a few of the evenings relaxing at spas. During our time in High Tatras we visited the famous Kempinski hotel where we paddled on the lake in canoes, explored Belianska cave, and ate at a lot of local restaurants. Make sure to try Halušky, their national dish!
My favourite experience was when we went to Central Slovakia, where we got to go bobsledding, paragliding, and e-biking, and we also went to a farm to experience slow life in Central Slovakia (I even got to dance with some of the locals there). We stopped by one of the central Europe's most exotic car museums, before making our way back to Bratislava.
In Bratislava, we got to explore the old town and city on Segways, and visited museums, vineyards, and markets. Michal then organized a scenic flight over Bratislava, which was definitely a memory that will last forever. Of course we visited many of the castles, but the highlight for me in Bratislava was when we went up in the UFO restaurant, which offered a stunning panoramic view of Bratislava, and the food was incredible as well.
Overall, the trip was extremely memorable, and Michal made it all happen without a hitch. He organized all the activities, hotels, transportation, and more, so we didn't have to worry about any plans or logistics, and simply had fun (and learnt a lot of about Slovakia as well).

Michal Hornacek is an excellent tour guide with highly relevant and meaningful insights into the region's history and much stamina. He has a clear voice, easily heard and understood by tour participants. He can adjust and adapt his program to the needs of the participants and is a wonderful company. We were so impressed as he went out of his way to take the visitors past the allocated time to show the environmental sites around Devin. Being a former ecologist he can tell you a lot more than an ordinary tour guide, so don't miss the opportunity to ask him to make a special eco-tour in addition to the delightful anecdotes.

Dear Venus and Brilliant starts team! It was a pleasure to spend a time with your group on our tour in Nature (National nature reserve in Devínska Kobyla in Bratislava region). Personally, I highly appreciate our deep conversations. Honestly, our time was a mutual enrichment, I hope we would repeat that in other life encounters.
Thank you

Booked 2 different day trips with Mr. Michal Hornacek.
First, we went fora hike in Sulov Rocks, being guided safely throughout the "U" shaped hills to see breathtaking views. Whilst doing so, we were also provided with information about the local forest animals and the wide variety of trees that grow there.
The second day trip was Banksa Stiavnica. During this day trip, Mr. Hornacek showed us the best part of a unesco old town where we could see the mines that were used in the past. Following this, we were shown a magnificent lake where we rested and enjoyed the view. In the second part of this day trip, Mr. Hornacek took us to a wine cave for a lovely wine tasting experience with a local wine maker.
In conclusion, Mr. Hornacek is a lovely, helpful and informative tour guide that adapted to any situation he was given throughout both day trips. Would highly recommend it and would definitely do it again.

This excursion was the highlight of my short trip in Slovakia. Bratislava is fun, but it is really special to get out of the city, experience the beautiful nature of Slovakia, and do some activities with locals. I had an extremely fun time touring with Michal!

The trip to Banska Stiavnica, which took place on 7, 8, 9th August 2021 was awesome! We met our guide Michal in beautiful location of Pension Aura, where he booked our accommodations for two nights. I had exclusively comfortable room with small kitchen and dinning table. The room was a part of a cottage build on the top of the hill with outstanding view on The Calvary road and surrounding forest. During these three days program was very intensive and covered many historical places, hiking in the surroundings forest, visit to the mountains lakes, silver mine, Love Bank. We tasted amazing teas in the local tea house which offers selection of tea and coffee from around the world. Another day we tasted wine from local wineries, very good quality, I bought 3 bottles. We were also exploring local restaurants and enjoyed traditional Slovak food. Every day was unique and enjoyable thanks to a professional guide Michal Hornacek. I really wish all the guided trips were like this one, without any problems, having plenty of time to enjoy the beauties of nature. The trip was arranged perfectly. Thank you for this outstanding memory!

I really enjoyed the day trip to Banská Štiavnica, and recommend it to anyone wanting to explore Slovakia beyond Bratislava. The small town is beautiful and full of history. The nearby lakes and countryside are also stunning. Filip did a fantastic job as a driver and guide: he is very professional, full of stories and facts, and very friendly, patient and flexible. Communicating and organizing with Trip In Slovakia was always easy and quick. Thanks guys!
