This trip was 3 years in preparation, cancelled once when the skies were closed and again when high numbers of Corona cases. Malek was endlessly patient despite the many uncertainties and changes. The trip, in a word, was AWESOME!
We are a mountain biking group of seniors (60-80 years) from Israel who love to combine biking with beautiful views, culture, and adventure. The trip was designed to accommodate the different abilities of our members, and bike days ranged from ~36-72 km with some riders taken back earlier. We started in the high Tatras then biked to a boutique hotel with different trails for the remainder of the trip. Added on was a folk music/food evening, Belianska Cave, Tree Top Walk in the Bachledova Valley, cable car rides, UNESCO tour with dedicated guides, etc… even sheltering in a ski hill chalet in a surprise hail-storm. The biking guides were attentive, spoke English, and prepared movies highlighting the day’s ride. We worked together to enhance the group’s experience with Malek, Marcel and all the assistant biking guides to meet our group needs in a calm smiling professional manner.
On a personal note, one of the rider’s had an accident, and Malek and the guides went out of their way to provide support in Slovakia throughout the ordeal. We never felt alone.
Would strongly recommend Active Travel for your adventure tours, no matter your age or skill level!

My wife and I spent a few weeks in central and southern Europe and were fortunate in being able to visit Slovakia. We spent three nights in the beautiful capital city of Bratislava on our own and arranged for a 2-day tour of central Slovakia. Marek with Active Travel was our guide--he did an amazing job of showing us one of the beautiful Carpathian Wooden Churches along with several church, town, castle, and other UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Hiking the high Tatras Mountains and nearby region were the highlights. We highly recommend Marek--he does a super job of making sure the tour and overnight accommodation meet your needs. Thanks!

Amazing !!! We enjoyed the 5 day tour called Holidays in Slovakia with easy rafting and Tatras experience. Marek at Active Travel was an outstanding guide and managed our trip to the very last detail. If you are looking for an adventure off the normal tourist path - this is a great option. You can adjust your schedule to accommodate the various degrees of adventure you seek … for example length of hikes. We explored the country in a active way - lots of activity, great castles, local food and exploring the highlights of the country’s history. We started and ended in Vienna. Accommodations were excellent and lots of variety in food to enjoy. Highlights included visiting a couple of UNESCO sites which were informative and the experience well presented. This was all done in a way that a family of teenagers (say 10+) would enjoy.

Marek - He's the man to make this a 5 * tour.
Planning - I was planning this tour with him (Though only 3 days) for 2 months since we wanted to be safe with the restrictions and other stuff. He was very supportive and only booked the tour when everything was in place and also confirmed to me that the money would be refunded in case of any issues due to pandemics.
He provided us a couple of options with the hotel - In Tatras or city - 4star or 5 stars and was accordingly adjusted in the price.He was very kind enough to book return train tickets for us to WARSAW since it was very difficult for us to books at the ticket window not knowing the countries language.
Itenary - The given itinerary itself is good covering all the must-see places in Slovakia and can only be done via Car since they are remote and some far.Marek was more than happy to add ad-hoc places as we went across and never said a "No" to anything.
Tour- He has an awesome, clean, and new Kia Sportage SUV which makes the entire journey relaxing and fun-filled.He has in-depth knowledge about the roads and the places and never needed a Map or routing directions. He provided Water throughout the journey. He will make sure you visit the only recommended places and do not waste energy and money paying the entrance fees. He took care of the entrance fees that were listed in the itinerary and some extra ones too.
There was never a time limit on the places but all was up to us - If we were tired- we stopped early else we just drove and drove.
Marek is an all-time smiling and fun-filled person and who is more than happy to show the beautiful Slovak culture and places. The price at which he offers the tour is fantastic and with all my research no one offered such a price with a 5 star amenities.
Thanks to Marek for the royal tour in 3 days that covers all of Slovakia.

This was a great journey covering almost the whole width of Slovakia and seeing so many wonderful sites along the way. I travelled very comfortably, stayed in fantastic accommodation, ate well, was very well looked after by my guide Marek and learned a lot about Slovakia.

Though my offer was so right before National Holiday, kind guide tried his best for looking for my hotels ,and they were so nice! When I said my selfishness about plan, he always accepted willingly them and kindly changed at once.
Active Travel Slovakia picked me so closed place from my dwelling on time, and on the way to the day's destination guide explained about various places, so I was not bored at all.
Of course the View of Central Slovak and East Slovak were so wonderful!!!
The guide's work was perfect!!
He took me the sights so safety, and his explain was so easy to understand.
In some Slovak restaurants that I was taken , the meals were so delicious.
Beautiful views, wonderful places of interest, perfect guide and so delicious meals!
By this Active Travel Slovakia I want to travel again.
I recommend Active Travel Slovakia with confidence!

Signed up with Active Travel via Viator. Company was responsive and helpful when I had queries before the trip. During the trip, I had two guides, Maraek and Martin. Both were excellent. They were very knowledgeable and at each site, they took pains to give us as much info as possible on the sites. In terms of timing, the itinerary was also well organised and planned. Would definitely recommend this package to anyone visiting Slovakia.

One of the best tours I have taken. In my three day tour tour I was able to visit several castles, churches, Slovakian villages and hike in a national park in the mountains. My tour guides Marek and Martin were outstanding and very professional. I will use them again when I return to Slovakia.

Being international travellers, getting to a remote part of Slovakia is not easy but Active Travel Slovakia picked us up from our hotel and enabled us to visit the Bojnice Castle as well as other key points of interest in the region. During the trip, we were also able to find out much about Slovakian history and culture as our guide was very knowledgeable on this.

We are a family of 5 traveling for a holiday and decided to include Slovakia into our itinerary. After research, we thought it might be best to book with an agency that can show us the highlights of the country since staying in Bratislava alone will not do much justice to our Slovakia experience.
So, I took interest in Active Travel Slovakia, among others, and finally chose this agency because Marek, the owner and organizer, truly shows he cares.
a few plus points:
(1) we were happy booking his standard 2-day package from Bratislava, and when he realized we were coming from Krakow, he suggested to begin our trip with a pick up from Krakow then to the high tartras. this saved us a lot o time and truly was a better experience.
(2) he personally attended to all our needs. a few of us are slow, some got knee issues, and yet, he was able to arrange walks that fit our capacity without sacrificing the sights
(3) as an added value, we asked him. to just book our Bratislava hotel and train to Budapest (less problems for us trying to manage all these small things) and he did it very well.
Marek provided an end-to-end service that in fact made us all vote Slovakia as the best among the 5 country tour we did.
Highly recommended, and I believe we shall be back for more of Slovakia, and still with Marek.
