The square’s beautiful representatives of the Art Nouveau style are - the pink apartment house at Šafárikovo Square 2 and the beige apartment house at Šafarikovo Square 3, built in 1904 and 1905 respectively. Two additional apartment buildings near the park represent the “Neo” movements popular during this time – the green, Neo gothic apartment house at Šafárikovo Square 4 and the Neo baroque style complex at Šafárikovo Square 7, once host to the Krym hotel.
Sure, the most imposing building on this Market is the Rectorate and the Faculty of Law of Comenius University, but all Art-Nouveau is my love.

Located just off Starý Most ( Old Bridge ) you will find Šafárikovo Námestie which is a beautiful tranquil square that is just a joy to go to.
My twin brother Stephen and I were on our way to the superb locals restaurants BeAbout and stopped for a few minutes in this superb area .
There's a little park here with some bench seating were there's a fountain ,it's called Ducks Fountain and looks superb,a very calming area,the architecture here is on a grand style, huge beautiful buildings that reminded me so much about the fantastic architecture to be found in Vienna but when you consider how close these two beautiful cities are to each other hardly surprising that the architecture should be similar.
We stayed here for a few moments before moving on,a really nice area.
Šafárikovo Námestie is easy to locate,tram number 1 to stop Šafárikovo Námestie drops you off in this square and area.
Well worth checking out.
