Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Got the boat from Bratislava to Vienna on a lovely sunny day. Easy to book the tickets online. Beautiful journey. Tip: we paid for the most expensive seats but it was pointless as we stood on deck the whole way. Book the cheap seats!!

Only 1.5 hours on boat from Bratislava to Vienna.
Plenty of room for luggage.
Spacious boat with light refreshments, comfortable seats, lots of windows to see the views, friendly staff.
Lots of woods but look out for Devin castle at edge of Slovakia, fishing huts, lovely old town in Austria. The boat has a commentary at points of interest.
Main issue was lack of information about getting a taxi once in Vienna which we needed as we had luggage - go out of boat and turn left up the ramp, then cross road to your right and in front of you is a taxi rank.

I used this service as my transportation from Bratislava to Vienna. I spent a day in Bratislava and booked a one way ticket for the 18:30 boat. Obviously, it takes a little longer than the train, but it was a great alternative to see the scenery along the way. They have luggage storage on the boat, as well as drinks and snacks for sale. The schedule was exactly as advertised and I had no problems on either end of the trip.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Twin City Liner. Despite cancellation protection and torrential rain, our tickets were not refunded. I specifically called the hotline beforehand and was assured that a refund would not be a problem. Otherwise, we would have traveled despite the bad weather. Rebooking was also not permitted. Now we have wasted €100.

Booked trip as a surprised 30th wedding anniversary/50th birthday present got there to be told the 18.00 boat back from vienna was cancelled and no bus would be provided to get back so told could go one way and make our own way back or could come back on early boat but told we would after pay more as only 2 seats left were for captains table .
Which I think is a cheeky when I payed well in advance for my tickets and got no email to let me no of the changes and not my fault very disappointed thanks for spoiling my day🙁

We used the service to go from Vienna to Bratislava and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The ferry was clean, quiet and reasonably priced. The service from the staff was good and the facilities were great, ie the toilets. It was interesting to see the land each side of the Danube - there was a national park on one side which had what looked like fishing cabins intermittently spread along. I would recommend this as a way to get between the two cities.

Scenery is nothing so special, although if you like river cruising, this company is OK. Boats are clean and comfortable enough, although you can get to either Bratislava or Vienna in much less expensive fashion. I'd recommend it once, just for the novelty.

So this probably isn’t the cheapest way to get to Vienna from Bratislava but it has to be the most fun! Leaves from the terminal under the UFO bridge and there’s a nice little deck bar rot have a beer while you wait! Weekends are quite expensive (€35) but there are better deals during the week and some concessions. It doesn’t really matter where you sit because you are allowed to head out the back - the only place that seems off limits is the upper deck which you have to pay more for. Views are great wherever you are really and there’s a little information video on deck that points out some key landmarks. There’s not that many to be fair but it sure beats being cooped up on a bus! Landing deck at Vienna has an amazing little bar upstairs also!

After a few days in Bratislava, we used the Twin City Liner to continue our holiday and to travel to Vienna. Very comfortable and a great way to see the Danube. We were a little worried there might not be space for bags, but there's plenty of space towards the back of the boat.

I would recommend using this for a trip to Vienna. The boat ride is very enjoyable and banks of the Danube provide a constant entertainment whilst your travelling. In the summer I would recommend buying the cheapest seats and then sit outside on the top deck for the duration of the ride. Paying extra for a window seat or captains lounge is not worth any extra as the best seats are outside.
