We took this hike in March 2017 and while the falls were frozen over, it was a beautiful day and we had the hike to ourselves which we hear is rare. It was challenging but with two teenaged boys it was a wonderful adventure with beauty all around right down to the last minute of viewing the mountains and medieval... More

Sucha Bela is probably one of the longest, and definitely one of the most popular gorges in Slovak Paradise National Park. Its popularity is determined by easy access - the bottom entrance to the gorge is served by a set of car parks in small settlement called Podlesok. Most of those car parks are run by National Park's authority, and... More

This is a challenging but beautiful walk. You travel up the stream of a gorge the whole way up. Be prepared for many challenges including walking through water and climbing several high metal ladders. The effort is really worth it as it's quite beautiful. In July when we visited there was a que at the first main ladder that took... More

My father , my brother and I went there a few days ago expecting the name "the slovakian paradise" will not live to the expectations it rises. However the hike was fantastic , exiting and Challenging. Throughout the entire time you will walk inside the stream , while even the ladders (more then just a few meters) might be covered... More

It was an experience that reminded me why I love nature and hiking. I was there with my wife, and 2 of our friends, and it was really amazing. The weather wasn't too bad, but in the afternoons near the end of hiking on the days it started with thunder storms and rain. On one day, it started raining really... More

Definitely worth visiting. The trail wasn't tiring at all but it was technically dificult. I wouldn't recommend it to people afraid of heights or not used to going for long walks.

Visited in early September with two of my Slovak in-laws (I am British). It is an amazing experience possibly one of the most beautiful natural environments anywhere. It is challenging - more mentally than physically if you are not used to narrow rocky slippy paths - health and safety hasn't reached Slovakia yet (probably for the better!). So take your... More

Beautiful canyon with a lot of ladders, chains and waterfalls. It can take up between 1 – 1.5hrs and after you can walk down or go to Klastorisko and rent a bike (during season) and to ride down within 15min. I would say it is possible to climb with kids from age of 8 years but you have to be... More

A great walking up trip starting from Podlesok clearing via Sucha Bela canyon. Be prepared for picturesque views and thrilling obstacles ( moving wooden blocks, stones, narrow path, high vertical metal ladders, steps above the stream etc. etc. ) Please note that if the flow of a stream is high half of the path will be flooded with streaming water... We walked this trail in August and we really liked the path and the nature around it! It took us 4 hours including one hour of waiting in the middle of the canyon where there are some tricky ladder/waterfall parts which caused a queue of hikers. This queue is probably there each day in summer due to the reason that... More
