We really enjoyed our visit and I would return with other friends. There are many items and I’m sure we’d see something we missed last time.

Thank You for the memories.
May 2019
I am a travel agent in Toronto and on a recent trip to Hungary I spent a few hours in this wonderful little museum with my girlfriend. We were both born in the fifties and lived as children in Hungary. There were so many objects sparking so many memories, from a public transport bus to cars, objects of every day use in the kitchen and a news stand full of period magazines and papers. For me the highlight was seeing a favourite toy from my childhood, dear enough to bring me to tears. Well worth the visit.

Oh the Memories!
May 2019 • Couples
This little museum is pretty fun for a person growing up in the 70s! It was chock full of memorabilia from that era along with a lot of cars, motorcycles, etc. and the history behind the manufacturing of them in Eastern Europe. If you have a few minutes take a trip down nostalgia lane!

Fun place to visit
May 2019 • Couples
We enjoyed visiting this small museum when in Szentendre on a very wet and rainy day. It is like stepping back in time - with displays of communist era memorabilia (e.g., electronics, toys, household wares). Car enthusiasts will most certainly enjoy it. There are some photo opportunities provided with certain vehicles and these are clearly indicated. We have only rated it as good (or average) - as we felt it was a bit pricey for what is offered. It is still an interesting place to visit though.

A feel of the seventies
A small place with vehicles, electronics and household items from the 70’s. A furnished flat, with kitchen and pantry. A nice time travel - recommended.

History the other way
Jan 2019
I visited the place with my wife and she enjoyed seeing all the stuff from her childhood. She told me many funny story and what it meant to here in the former times.
I think for a foreigner it can be more interesting visiting this place with a Hungarian born before 1980, so they remember all that stuff.

Szentendre is a Gem - The Retro Design Centre is a Throw Back in Time
Dec 2018 • Family
If you visit Budapest, take a short train ride to Szentendre. You will not be disappointed. The train ride is very inexpensive and is available hourly. The town is adorable and the river that runs through it is stunning. Little shops and gorgeous stone homes. Take the time to explore the town and get off the main street. Dedicate 1/2 day or full day for this trip.

***We stumbled across this inexpensive Retro Museum. The Retro Design Centre has many old cars, a school bus and many other gems that had us smiling. The Museum is small and will not take you more than 1 hour to go through.

The Retro Design Centre was a highlight and a surprise to stumble upon.

Great!
Dec 2018 • Friends
Definitely worth visiting, a lot of great things from the 70s: vinyls, toys, cameras, TVs, a kitchen...
The cars on the outside are great as well, my personal favorite: the pink cabrio!

A glimpse back to the 70's
Oct 2018 • Couples
A glimpse back to the 70's in a different culture in communist era Hungary. Check out the "Monopoly" game and the kitchen appliances. The auto, bus and motorcycle collection is very interesting. If you can visit this museum with a Hungarian who lived in this era makes it really special.

Nice collection of 70's memorabilia. Coming from the West, I am not familiar with the brands found here, but it is a nice way of seeing what it looked like the pop artefacts behind the Iron Curtain.
