A must if you are visiting Gyor. The staff are friendly, helpful and anxious to please. They really want visitors to have the best experience of their city and are a mine of information of what to see and do to achieve this.

If you don't know much about the city or you are travelling without a tour guide, start your visit here. When you enter from the street, go one floor up to the Visitors' Center. (The ground floor is the gift shop. Go back there later.) There is a lot of information if you turn left from the elevator, printed on the walls exhibition-style: some standard descriptions of the city and the surrounding area, about the history, the attractions, the wildlife, the programs, the festivals, etc. If you turn left from the elevator, you'll see a lot of brochures on tables and shelves. You can sit down, have some rest and read them. If you still have questions, you can ask the staff for more specific information. You can buy tickets from them to museums, concerts, plays, sports games, and other events. Most importantly, you can find out about the app for your phone or tablet that would help you with your visit. You can just scan the QR codes near most attractions and be directed to a site with relevant information. Closed on Sundays.
