Really nice view from the tower. Castle is small enough and an hour to visit is plenty. The entry ticket is 3 euro and worth the view but not much else to see. We didn't go inside to the museum which is additional fee.

An amazing fortress. The outside part of the castle is not very beautiful and not well preserved nor designed, is it neglected or under renovation ? Anyway the underground caves are quite impressive and the exhibition offers a great understanding of historic, architectural and military...More

Nice views but not much else. It’s worth the walk but other than the views not much to it. We also found the signage confusing. Still hard to understand right way out

Walk around, learn the history and enjoy the views of Eger castle. This was my first time visiting the famous castle, although I know the story from reading The Stars of Eger, and felt I was walking through Hungary's history of their Turkish invasion. The...More

We walked around the castle with the walking ticket, plenty of information is provided about its history. It takes ca. 1 hour. One can take nice pictures

We had a nice walk in the castle. There are some nice animations and exhibitions, one can imagine how the life there was. What I do regret that the large space in the middle is unused, dusty and dirty.

Visited the castle with friends from Scotland. They were very impressed although the audio system was not very loud and made it difficult to follow the map especially that we were given two different maps. Nonetheless we had a great day out and the views...More

This castle is well worth a visit. Unfortunately any English spoken is very minimal. It is possible to get an understanding/ appreciation of the history and the exhibitions are worth seeing. If you want anything further then I suggest you read about it on the...More

English is not a commonly used language there. If you know German or Hungarian you'll be fine, otherwise be prepared for frustration. Any of the exhibitions or tours inside the fortress close at 16:00 (we found out after spending time walking around, not being informed...More
