Very interesting visual art built on the perception of the brain images. A small museum but a good collection

It is a midsize museum in Óbuda. When you enter you will find a the world of Victor Vasarely. He was Hungarian, but lived in France. I love all non figurative pictures of him and there is very nice collection is there. You can visit another Vasarely museum in Pécs, which simlarly very nice.

Free with the Budapest card. Bus outside or take the suburban train. Impressive pictures that jump out at you. The castle looks somewhat worn down.

I was really looking forward to visiting the Victor Vasarely Museum and I thought it was great! The museum is spread out on two floors. The bottom floors show Vasarely's earlier work, which I didn't find as interesting. At the same time it was good to see the evolution of his work. Upstairs are the typical large scale works that... This museum is a bit out of the way but we got there by underground and bus (free with City pass as was entry to the museum) and the help of several locals who went out of their way to help despite our non-existent Hungarian! It's in Buda -the oldest part of the City which has Roman ruins, which we... More

Excellent exhibition for the artist, in an overall nice building with helpful staff. Budapest card granted us free entrance and although the location is a bit further away from the center of the city, the tour pays you off. The temporary exhibition called Pure Light was nothing fancy but the rest of the tour was worth it.

I'd heard of Vasarely, and stumbled on this while waiting for a bus at Szentlelek ter. It's a very comprehensive collection of his works of art and is a nice way to pass an hour or so - made me quite like his work!

A bit out of the way for the international visitor, but still easily accessible by public transport. The art works are superb, Vasarely was one of the pioneers of op art. The building itself is not the best to house this exhibition however.

Victor Vasarely is the father of Pop & Kinetic Art. Fascinating biographical film and exhibit of provoking works. Also houses temporary exhibits of young artists. Definitely worth the short train trip outside the city.
