You will find it at a short walking distance from the Parliament and you will love it at first sight. Look it up in your guidebook before your visit and while you are there, enjoy the real couleur locale.

We came across this square while walking to the Hold Utca market nearby. It looked so pretty with it's interactive fountain and statues al bordered by some beautiful stately buildings. It was only when we noticed the barbed wire erected along a road barrier and...More

While the memorial is nice, I'm not sure why the Hungarian government would leave up a memorial to the Soviet Army after the history between WWII and the end of the Cold War. There is also a statue of President Reagan nearby, and several interesting...More

Our guide told us that the monument was built in 2014 in memeory of the victims of the holocaust. It depicts Germany's imperial eagle swooping down on the archangel Gabriel, which symbolizes Hungary. There are pictures underneath it and artifacts that relate to the victims....More

Szabadsag Square is a must-see - surrounded with impressive buildings - and a fantastic chance to shake hands with Ronald Reagan. Freedom is beautiful.

This is a wonderful area of buildings and statues. The revisionist history for the monument is ridiculous and interesting. I liked the protest memorial really well.

Another great square to visit, close to everything. In the area you can find many restaurants, coffee shops.

A large open space with children play areas, cafes and home to numerous statues and monuments. The largest being the Soviet War monument, German Occupation monument and a statue of Ronald Reagan, amongst others. Its a lovely area to chill out in.

Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube,
with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The
Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica
stand out as two of the finest examples of
architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for
more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval
city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while
the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention
