The Keleti Train Station is a Hungarian national disgrace. It is old, run-down, dirty and a haven for pick-pockets and other thieves. As in many European train stations, it costs a small amount to use the public bathroom. Evidently some people who frequent the station...More

The outer party of the railway station as well as the hall located on the left side are nicely restored and definitely provide a nice view for architectural lovers. It provides a good connection to other public transport as well as all sorts of fast...More

At Keleti Station there are both the old main station housed in an old steel and glass hall and a new structure for the regional trains. Both are elegant in their own way. And there is a huge shopping mall right next door.

It looks like this building was pretty awesome at one point. But it needs a lot of maintenance. It's pretty rundown.

The station itself has the great architecture associated with the mid-1800's. In addition, it has the opportunity to observe and photograph various cars and locomotives. While the station proper is totally passenger, a walk to the east (on the south side of the yard) will...More

at one time the Emperor of Austria-Hungary had an office suite at the train station . It is so central that one could see having meetings here, having a bite to eat and looking at the amazing 19th century architecture. Unfortunately, the building has been...More

Gorgeous building, you can tell it new some better days... Huge beautiful building, unfortunately, not in very good condition, need urgent renovation. The tourist information center is not so good. Very small and so is the information they give.

There are definitely porters. They are a little greedy and will stand there in the train waiting for a tip after they've helped with your bags. The man we had didn't accept euro coins (like 4 euro in coins) but he did accept... More
