Arrived at Keleti from Prague. It is huge but very old train station. Many tourist booths so be careful what you are buying and from whom. We bought the Budapest Card from the sellers on the front right side of the station. Looking at the front exit, they were in the front right corner of the station. They were the... More

Went here to board a train to Vienna. The building's facade is huge! And so amazing to see as you turn a corner. The interior is not as nice, but then, who cares! It was a little confusing at first glance to find where to buy international tickets from, but basically domestic tickets are purchased from electronic machines in the... More

Traveling from Budapest to Zagreb by train, our tickets were booked from Kelenfoe station (by Rail Europe Australia). Following advice on TripAdvisor we boarded the train from the main terminus at Keleti. For first-class passengers there's also a waiting lounge with free drinks and nibbles. Overall a very easy experience, and much easier than trying to jump aboard at the... More

It's a functional and useful place for many reasons (most of them are obvious reasons). But it also works well as a point of reference. It's a huge building and there is a subway station near it, as well as several tram stops.

It's hard to appreciate the architectural details of the beautiful roof when you are pulling suitcases and not sure where to go and what to do! Mostly, this station is a big hub for regional and international trains, and the local metro, busy with travelers at any hour. While the metro station is fairly new and roomy, and seems in... More

Ok, it seems to be an efficiently run station, the trains are on time etc etc. BUT if you need the gents before you travel take your own toilet roll. You pay some guy 160 forints at the entrance and all you get is a stall with not even a toilet roll holder, so it's not a case of them... More

Keleti Railway Station is the rail entre point to Budapest Hungary and it has seen better days. Very little in the way of amenities is available at the station, although there is a helpful Tourist Information desk in the corner near the main entrance/exit and they are very helpful. A tip for arrivals, don't hire a taxi without confirming through... More
