We purchased a cabin ticket, rather than 2 lockers. Towels can be rented, but if we had 2 backpacks instead of one we would have brought our own--theirs are a bit thin. If you plan on swimming in the deeper main pool, bring a swimcap; they are mandatory. The wrist key works well to get in and out of your... More

We were there on Easter, so maybe there were more people than usual there, but the baths were very crowded, there was a mob of people in every one of the baths and pools, for me it is too much and not quite relaxing. The showers were quiet basic and with no really hot water (Not cold though, lukewarm). ***... More

Szechenyi is a big complex of thermal baths definitely worth visiting in Budapest! They have pools outdoors and indoors, different temperatures with information how much time it is recommended to spend there. They provide daily tickets for either a lock or a room for 5000 HUF (~16€) that include all the baths and different saunas. There are also SPA facilities... More

When in Budapest you definitely have to come to the baths and try all the different inside baths. The outside pools are great with a wonderfully fun whirlpool in one of the baths. It was fun watching people laughing as they got caught up in the whirlpool.

A really unenjoyable experience from start to finish. Entering the glorious building we were instantly hit with the feeling of being inside a local, squalid, council run swimming baths. We had paid for a private changing booth upstairs however the lack of English from the staff made explaining how things work near impossible. I'm fine with no English speaking staff,... More

We went round to the 'zoo entrance' side, then had to walk all the way back to the closest entrance off the road. A 'locker' is a changing room where you leave ALL your belongings and they give you a key to come back to the same changing room (so you don't effectively have a separate locker). I think there... Had read some reviews and was a bit worried that this wasn't worth the effort but these baths had been recommended above others. We pitched up early and took a cabin but on reflection as we were two couples we would have been happy enough in the separate male/female changing rooms with lockers on the lower level. Note that towel... More

We visited the baths on a Sunday morning during an Easter weekend trip to Budapest. It was busy but not heaving, and I believe from other reviews the morning is a quieter time to visit. Take your own towel if you can (we did) as the queue for towel hire was very long. We booked a cabin but none were... More

If we had done things differently. At the baths, we just walked up to the ticket window where they had a general price list. That was a mistake. We should have looked at all the promotional packages advertised on posters in the lobby or booked a package deal online. As it was, we were confused. Once you get past the... More

The Spa buildings are great to view from outside, architecture at its best, though in need of some TLC in places. The pools were lovely and clean too. Drinks and snacks are available inside.
