This zoo was lovely! It was really big and had a massive variety of animals, most animals appeared to have lots of space (barring the tigers, who unfortunately had too little space). When I visited there were baby giraffes and elephants, which were adorable. A huge variety of larger mammals as well as lots of small fluffy animals. And super... More

Marking down as whilst the building and facilities for visitors are great. I felt uncomfortable looking at some of the animals which seemed to be unsettled. One of the Bears, one of the anteaters and what I think was the armadillo were pacing, swaying and circling which are signs of stress and depression which I found quite upsetting to see

We went to this zoo in Budapest. The zoo itself is bigger than you'd expect and also houses lots of animals. Some of the animal habits were small or even empty, but most animals were clearly visible. The zoo is well maintained, clean and looks good from the inside. Most of the information about the animals is only in Hungarian... More

We visited at the end of March, I was pleasantly surprised at the entrance free, great value for money and even more so when combined with the 25% discount for using our Budapest Travel Card. The zoo itself was clean and well presented. The animals appeared well cared for and content. Despite some comments from other reviewers, in my opinion... More

We were concerned given some of the reviews around the size of the enclosures, as big animal lovers and regular zoo goers. Some of the big cat enclosures are on the small side, ahoy ever on the whole the enclosures are reasonably sized and have good enrichment. The animals themselves look in good health and condition. Very well priced indeed.... More

We were given a discount voucher for 25% off the total price, but the woman would only take it off one visitor. We should have known then. When I asked for the manager, she suddenly couldn't speak English. t was a really hot day, so many animals were very lethargic. However, this does not explain the vast number of empty... More

Visited the zoo this afternoon with my partner. We had a great time visiting all the different animals. Yes, the zoo is looking a bit tired and yes, some if the enclosures did smell a little however they had a wide range of animals to see and we both had a great time!

Personally I love zoos and this one was definitely a huge hit and highlight of my trip to Budapest! The ambiance is great, you will love the greenery and the flowers, especially on this season that everything is blooming because of Spring. Tigers, bears, koalas, wombats-the first time I saw one was in Budapest, birds, sea lions, otters, seals, fish, crocodiles,... More

i wish i had more time to spend in this beautiful place.. really enjoyed.. amazing work of architecture also can be seen all around the Zoo area. Tropicana is my favourite. Rare animal species such as green basilisk lizard, giant anteater, tapir etc.

The layout of the zoo is great fun for the children however the state the animals where in was horific! Some animals, which I believe enjoy the water, had their 'ponds' completely dry. Some others where so dirty, the water of the seals was scary dirty, the gorilla was so depressed it kept banging on the enclosure door waiting for... More
