This square is at the beginning of the Chain Bridge. It includes the roads entering and exiting the bridge, The Science Academic building, the Gresham Palace, now the Four Seasons Hotel and a nice grassy and shady park with statutes. The street on the side of the hotel will take you right to St. Stephen 's Basilica.

A must see which can be appreciated at any time, but gets especially stunning at night. With all the lighting, be sure of taking a bunch of pictures.

The Square though small in size was near to the Chain Bridge. You could take photos around and there were quite a lot of statues there. Nice view on Buda side across the bridge and many beautiful structures in the vicinity.

Small, but very picturesque square with great location. Perfect place to relax and unwind before continuing to explore Danube river banks.

This square is located about half way between Parliament and the Chain Bridge. From here you are able to get an excellent photo of Castle Hill, the Fishermen's Bastion, Mathias Church and the Chain Bridge. Square is surrounded by attractive looking buildings, the tram and the Danube

This is a nice square in front of the Gresham Palace at the foot of the Chain Bridge. Take a walk from Buda side to Pest and you can see this marvellous small green "island"! :-)

This is a wonderful square that you can just take the weight of your feet and chill out in this vibrant city and take in some of the fantastic sites and views of this city. We walked over Chain Bridge heading towards The John Bull Pub and as it was a lovely sunny March afternoon we decided to sit on... More

This spot is a good spot to relax, take very good photos, and regroup before the next leg of you trek. You have excellent access to restaurants, shopping, and public transportation. Traveling on foot here is best, I drove to this area one time in over a dozen visits. Take the metro for about $1.25 and don't worry about the... More

Another square in the city on the"Pest" side where people congregate and enjoy the city. Art exhibit along withe restaurants and shops surrounding the square. Views of the Danube and the " Buda" side can be seen from the square. This is one of many squares in the city that are neat places to enjoy!

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
