English guided tour was excellent although I did struggle to hear the tour guide at times. Beautiful building with a short opera performance on the stair case at the end.

My personal # 1 experience in Budapest. An english guide tour was excellent. If you love Opera and History, this is the tour from A to Z.
Basicly 1 hour and ended in an opera performance on the stairs. The duo singing were absolutely astonishing. Remember to do a reservation ahead through the web, if not forget it.Thanks.

This Opera House is one of the most beautiful ones we’ve ever seen… Only second to Palais Garnier in Paris. We took the English tour and it was a good experience. I only wish the organizers didn’t do multiple tours a minute after the previous. This makes it for a very convoluted and disorganized system where the groups run into each other with very little continuity and a nice flow. For this reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

The guided English tour led by Ava was amazing. She was so engaging and funny and really knew everything there is to know about this beautiful venue. We felt so lucky to have Ava and she gave time for photos of the opera house and to ask her any questions and allowed the tourists to sit when she was talking if needed. The tour lasted 1 hour and ended in an opera performance on the stairs. What a treat! The duo singing were absolutely astonishing and it made such a beautiful end to such an incredible tour. Can’t recommend enough! 10/10!

Budapest Opera House is a building with grand designs. It is very ornate inside, but due to renovation works,we could only visit the box office, foyer and see the staircases,we couldn't go into the auditorium, however, the artwork out here alone was unbelievable, look up and see the reds and golds on the ceiling frescos, beautiful!

Taking a tour of the opera house is an unforgettable experience. This is one of the most beautiful opera houses I have ever seen. I was not damaged during WWII and it is pristine. The tour is very informative and we even got a demonstration by two of their performers. The acoustics are incredible.

The building is beautiful. Worth visiting for a tour or a show (better yet).
We didn't stay for the entire show as the kids (teens) weren't loving the show but it was worth it to see the building and experience a bit of the opera

The English tour was both fun and informative. Perfect length (exactly one hour) and a fun surprise at the end. Highly recommend.

The details (inside and out) are absolutely stunning -- especially now that the renovation has been completed. Definitely worth a stop -- with or without a tour.

A very nice tour available of the newly refurbished opera building with a delightful short performance at the end. Such places would never be made today, but let’s enjoy them.
