I was extremely pleased with this small but informative museum. Dealing with the period from 1815 exhibition areas deals mainly with the 1848 Revolution, the Great War, World War II and the era of communist rule, including the 1956 Uprising. Other wars covered included those...More

The museum was interesting. Bad layout, didn't flow. Though I'm sure if we were given a map at the beginning we would think differently. Ww2 section was closed which is a shame because we only went for this bit. Tickets were around £4.50 each for...More

Tucked away in the citadel there were very few people in the museum. The attractions were well kept with some excellent technology. Exhibitions are divided into 19th Century, WW1 and WW2 and each is very informative. Entry prices are very reasonable, too.

If you are interested in the Hungarian history, this is a good place to learn a lot. There are mainly 18.-19. siecle exhibits, and to see them all you need at least 2 hours. The museum is at the Buda Castle hill

Very interesting with a large range of history in Hungary. This museum takes about 2-4hrs to go through. Great for war history buffs!

A good review of Hungary in the terms of modern military events (1800-2016). To survey every exhibit, it might take some time. Plan on at least and hour and a half.
