Our guide Regi was super! She gave a lot of details, told funny stories and was very friendly throughout the tour even though the weather outside was bad. I highly recommend this tour(with Regi as your guide) and I would do it a second time :)

The guide was very friendly, with a strong wish to share with us as much information about Budapest as possible. We found out very interesting things about Hungarian culture and history. I recommend this tour in your first day in Budapest in order to have a big picture of the city.

This Communist tour was a pleasant one. The website said 2,5-3h, but the tour was actually 1,5h long which was quite disappointing. Other than that, the guide Ursula was nice and well-informed. The tour was a little bit too basic for us but is maybe a good idea for young people coming from countries that were on the other side... More

Daniel was the best guide that you can wish for. Informative, entertaining, interactive. He really made the walking tour a lovely experience, even though the weather was cold, especially telling some personal stories concerning his relatives and their friends during the communistic regime. Wish that people were more generous with their tips, when they get such a 1st class performance!

This free walk tour around Budapest takes only 3-3.5 hours, but it still manages to cover all the major tourist attractions. I have visited both General and Connubist historical tours and I am looking forward to take part in Jewish District tour too. What I like most is a friendly approach of guides, their language skills and preparation. The tour... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
