Nice old square with some pleasant cafes dotted around. Nice views of Marobor Castle (now the regional museum). Worth exploring.

Nice place in old town Maribor, worth a visit if you take a walk in the city. I enjoyed the architecture, especially the vivid colors of the buildings.

Maribor is worth stopping, because it's the second largest town of Slovenia. The old town is rather an average one, but with plenty of small shops and cafés. The Rotovski Square is one of the nicest places of Maribor center. And from there it's not far to the Main Bridge (Glavni most), which offers nice views of waterfront.

The old historical center of Maribor is worth a visit and even a detour. We visited it on a very rainy autumn Saturday afternoon, and is was still worth the trip. Beware though: most shops close at 1300 and do not reopen that day. Only large(r) department stores are open. When visiting the town for town-reasons that is no objection,... More

Take a friend or loved one for a relaxing stroll along the beautiful river. Or perhaps consider taking an enemy that you'd like to make amends with.

The neatly renovated area around the square is nice to look at and been there, done that. The streets leading from and to the square house numerous quaint little shops.

Medieval Square has connections to all the important places of old town - Gosposka ulica (Gentlemen's Street) leads to the castle, Stari most (Old Bridge) connects old town with right river bank and the new part of the city, Poštna ulica (Postoffice Street) is night-life center of Maribor, Koroška ulica (Carniola Street) shown the oldest buildings in town. It is one of the points in Maribor that you must see - Plague monument, old city hall, nice baroque buildings. There ia also a lot of nice caffes and restaurants for having a break and enjoy the city.

Interesting old town centre. Not very large but quaint with some lovely architecture to see. Lovely area down beside the river with several bars and cafe directly overlooking the river which have cheap prices.

Very interesting square, typical for the tidy and ordered Slovenia. Many architectural landmarks you can see here.
