Overlooking Presernov Square and also the meeting place for the free walking tours which I would highly recommend.

Inside so much nicer than outside, ornate again, but very lovely. a calm oasis from the surrounding busy streets

Very nice renovated church with many beautiful frescoes and altars. Chapels behind the altar also accessible for public. Tourist-friendly outside of worship/service hours.

Early morning was crowd free and so were the steps. By late afternoon it's much busier. Beautiful exterior and equally charming inside. Very atmospheric.

The church sits in one of the main squares by the river so chances are you will pass in front of it. It's worth popping in side to see some of the beautiful altars and artworks.

This used to be the home of the Augustine monks until the end of the 1700s. The red color is symbolic for the Franciscan order. It is the focal point of Preseren Square that is now the center of Ljubljana. It is free to visit.

If you are Catholic you can attend Saturday vigil mass at 7:00 PM or Sunday masses. The steps are the meeting point for the daily free city tours at 11:00 AM & 3:00 PM (tips only) during the summer months.

Yo just must come in. It is inviting you. Inside is such calmness and on the hot day you cool yourself and calm down. Definitelly some good energy there.

Certainly worth a peak inside. It's right on the main square in Old Town, so not out of your way to get there as everyone goes to the Old Town center at some point. The church is quite nice, not nearly as elaborate as the...More
