In order to hike to the waterfall, you must pay a small fee of 2 euro. Though a popular attraction, the hike is not for those with mobility issues. Winding stairs take you through the thick forest. At times, it opens up and offers you a pretty incredible backdrop of mountains cascading into Bohinj a few miles away. It takes... More

From the parking area (3,00 €) starts a well organized path leading to the viewpoint in no more than 20 minutes. The 70-metres waterfall is gorgeous and you arrive really close. I've been lucky because I've visited in late october, when the the beech forest turns colours in a flaming red and yellow.

Waterfall parking is easy to find. It is a paid parking lot, which is typical for tourist attractions. We travel extensively and weren't impressed by this waterfall. They created stairs to climb to the view, which is unfortunate because it is a beautiful forest and a meandering path would have been much nicer and easier to climb. When you finish... More

In Slovenia's only national park, this waterfall is a headline attraction 30 minute drive from Lake Bled. The park is rustic and has the trailhead to many hikes and alpine climbs. This particular walk to the Savica waterfall is very challenging, 20 minutes of relentless climbing, mostly paved in concrete but with many rocks and tree roots in the foot... More

We chose to start our excursion at Bohinj Camp so it took us quite time to get to waterfall. The hike was a pleasant one, and the last part with many stairs tired us a bit, but finally a sight we've seen was well worth the sweat.

The climb is somewhat challenging. I'd expect to get fantastic view of the waterfall (or at least the option to get much nearer..) Unfortunately, there's no way of doing that. I would have spend my time differentelly had I knew that.

If you can climb stairs, you can do this walk. Very manageable through some lovely forest. And, pace-depending, you'll reach the waterfall in about 20 minutes. A lovely waterfall crashing into a green pool below. And that's it. Then you turn around and go back down the stairs. Worth doing--don't let the stairs daunt you! You can tick the box... More
