Personally I thought travelling across the Lake to the Castle was a better experience than the Castle itself, the scenery is lovely and the history of the boats used to take you across the Lake fascinating. The Castle is small and very easy to get...More

Definitely worth the steep hike up from the lake. For little money you can visit the interesting exhibitions and enjoy the great view on the landscape. Definitely try the cream cake at the Café! (1,50€ discount when buying a ticket for full price)

There is quite a lot to see in the castle with information on the history. The best part is the views especially over the lake as the castle towers over the surrounding area emphasising its former importance. There are the usual facilities, including refreshments. We...More

The castle itself is nice - there is quite a lot to see at the castle, but it's the views of the lake and mountains that make it really special.

This is just an exert, see my full review of this area including Ljubljana, Vintgar Gorge, Predjama Castle, and more at jcmarxblog.com Inside the castle itself was not really all that spectacular, but it is definitely worth the hike to see the views. It’s like...More

Go for the views. The castle is very small and can be scene in about 10 minutes. Can be difficult to get to.

My wife and I were here on a tour from US. Lake Bled is very pretty, and the 2 major attractions - Bled Castle and Church on the Island - all very easily reachable. The climb can be a bit hard for those with physical...More

Absolutely worth a visit if you are impressed by visual perspectives as this is THE place to absorb the beauty of this Lake. In weather such as we enjoyed today, you look down on deep aquamarine with the various hues of green around its shores...More

The castle seen from the lake is absolutely lovely. I managed to catch the sunset while visiting and it was magnificent. You definitely need to visit this place. And the view of the lake from the castle is also something out of this world. Gorgeous!

Many have mentioned it is a steep walk up to the castle and someone else mentioned taking a shuttle bus. Does the castle offer a shuttle up to the entrance? I will be traveling with elderly people who will not be able to climb it. Also, has anyone visited the wine cellar? Do you have to plan for this in advance? Many thanks,

There is no free shuttle bus. If you have someone elderly I would recommend a taxi. They can be organised at the shop beside the tourist information in the main town. I did not know about the wine cellar. However, if you... More

There is a large area of the lake sectioned off for swimming in the summer. When outdoor swimming is not possible, we used Ziva wellness centre which charges around €10 for 3 hours use of the pool/outdoor heated pool, we... More

I don't need to know about Bled as we visited there in 2014 but I do want to ask about completing the Review page.re the date of our visit. The only date options were for 2016 so I had to select Sept 2016 when it was actually Sept 2014. There was no way that I could put in the correct date. Why is this?

Hi, the purpose the review is to keep the "latest" info up to date. It is not to record your past travel record. Hence the date range given.
