The university is on the royal route and impossible to miss. Very impressive entrance gates to the vast building complex of the university. Nice place to wander round with good buildings and pleasant squares to sit and study.

I walked through the gates and was pleasantly surprised at the change in atmosphere .... a lovely place for a stroll . The buildings are steeped in history and time seems to have stopped still there . I found a sit-down on a bench inside...More

Since this university is in such an ideal location, it is a nice, safe place to wander away from the "Royal Mile". Students are scurrying in every direction, being students - some are serious, some are having fun, some are lovers. Good break from the...More

The entrance on the former Royal Route is particularly attractive. We passed it numerous times both in daylight and at night and it looked impressive. This is the main campus of a vast university that in total comprises over 120 buildings around the city, though...More

At the heart of the old town, just a few steps away from the tourist crowd, there is a calm area called "university". Take a coffee and a book, sit on a bench and enjoy yourself. Of course I mean if the weather is ok.
