Its hard to believe that so much of the square was destroyed in 1939 during WWII. It's great that the area has been rebuilt with shops and restaurants. It's always packed with both tourists and locals. It's also nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday! While you are there, be sure to take a tour of the castle. It's free on... More

Very pretty reconstructed square at the centre of the Old Town. It's very tourist-friendly and should be enjoyed as such. Plenty of places to eat and drink as well as people watch. It serves as a good base for exploring the city. It's very safe in that it is not rowdy and has many school trips visiting during the day.

It somehow reminds me of the Red Square, in Russia, where the Saint Basil Cathedral is. Maybe because of the colorful buildings. Beautiful place for pictures, in a central area, full of history. There's the a museum, Zygmunt Colum, and other attractions to see.

The square where usually everyone starts his journey to the Old Town. Nice place for local people to gather for some entertaining events, dances or just for a walk.

Castle Square is a must-see area of the Old Town of Warsaw. It was mostly destroyed but has been rebuilt in historic form. There's a huge museum you can explore or just hang out in the Square where boisterous crowds are entertained by performers. Very family friendly and fun. I highly recommend exploring this part of Warsaw. (It's also where... More

We were awed by the breathtaking architecture and well kept buildings. We didn't were to look first! As people coming from America where nothing is older that 200 years to see buildings and palaces constructed hundreds of years earlier and still standing just blew us away.

I visited here in the early evening as part of a business trip I was on (I went a wee adventure wander after work to see some of the sights). Although there was nothing really to do here when I visited it, I wandered through it as part of my time visiting old town and makret square as these are... More
