Ulica Kanonicza ( Kanonicza Street ) is one of the most beautiful streets in Krakow and one of the most historic.
This street and area was once the ancient hamlet of Okół,the buildings along this street are amazing, mostly homes for priests, the most famous resident here was Pope John Paul II ,I just love walking down this street and taking in the stunning architecture, its most definitely a street to check out if you're planning a holiday to Krakow.

This is a tranquil and historic street, leading to and from the castle.
It's was relatively empty in comparison to the hectic Grodzka street.

This old street is known for the medieval Okol settlement from 1401.

Later there came houses for priests managing the cathedral. Pope John Paul II lived here.

Many stunning Renaissance and Baroque palaces with decorative portals have survived to this day.

Lined with medieval houses and palaces the “Street of Canons” is worth a stroll. There are many fine examples of lovely architecture and this is also where Pope John Paul II resided as a priest in Krakow. You can see many great examples of both Baroque and Renaissance style properties.

One of the best streets in Krakow. Old and peaceful but this was where Pope John Paul II resided when he was Bishop of Krakow.
There is a permanent image of the Pope here and is a popular tourist attraction.
Superb architecture here with the stunning Wawel Castle and Cathedral nearby.
Well worth a visit in Krakow.

In my opinion this street is the most beautiful among many other streets connecting to Krakow Main Square. Here is very quiet always, good for relaxing and short walk. Also it is possible to have a view of nice architectural buildings.
