I just couldn't stop imagining it as my own private collection! Small selections from the Egyptian, Greek and Roman worlds; Mediaeval art, Military artefacts, a few absolute masterpieces (Rembrandt,Da Vinci); a random miniature of Mary Queen of Scots & Henry VIII, "Shakespeare's" (?) chair. I visited this museum specifically to see Leonardo da Vinci 'The Lady with an Ermine' as I am sure most people do. The history of the painting was well laid out and given she was stolen in WWII she is in remarkable condition. I would...More

The first museum open to the public in Poland is delightful on its own. The Leonardo da Vinci painting Lady with Ermine makes it a must see.

Such a shame that only one room was open to view. There was one Rembrandt painting on show in the middle of the room. But all the other rooms were closed. Only one room was open with Ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian artifacts and they...More

Having just arrived in Krakow, this museum was first on my list after locating the Market Square .... CLOSED. The renovations were due to be completed in June. So so disappointed.
