What a lovely gate - ideal photo opportunity with great access to the Main Square and Wawel Castle. You will find local artists selling their wares here too

At the end of a busy shopping street stand St. Florians Gate, spellbinding especially at night, one could almost not notice the McDonald's next to it.

Part of the walled section of old town Krakow. It is an easy landmark, and well worth seeing. It is very-very Krakow, and one passed through many times during my stay. There are some neat stores, and restaurants near here.

It's call St. Florian's Gate because fire was a huge concern for 15th century cities built of wood. St. Florian was the patron saint of the city fire department. Parts of the old city wall stretch from the gate.

This is a most impressive structure that is very appealing to the eye with good balance to its proportions overall. It is good to know that such buildings are kept in good repair for future generations to see and appreciate.

While walking around Krakow beautiful and interesting streets, visit this historical gothic icon as it is just fabulous. Taking into consideration that it was part of the old fortifications (14th century) to protect the city from the Turkish. The local authorities have some boxes for people to donate money to support them keeping the renovation and maintaining these fabulous pieces... More

A beautiful landmark from a bygone era which is different to the rest of the surrounding architecture and well preserved. There are always musicians around playing music, as we were here just before Christmas they were playing Christmas music.

The architecture is very differnt to elsewhere in Crakow and there were always people playing typical polish instruments and in cotrsume when I was there, very pleasant. You cannot miss it if you walk through the town.
