The walks and cycle paths through and around the forests would keep walkers and cyclists busy for several days and the local council have done a great job with signs and watch towers We missed the best bird watching season by three weeks but still...More

The forest is fantastic. Definitely get a guide and try to stay for the whole day and go deep into the forest. A 2 -3 hour trip just isn't long enough. Also, bring mosquito repellent. They are plentiful!!

Seriously. Long sleeves, long trousers, repellent, in some parts a net and hat is a good idea. Health warning over, let's talk about the forest. It's beautiful but extremely expensive to get into the most protected part- we paid 330PLN for two people for a...More

First of all - BRING INSECT SPRAY. Put lots of on. Avoidn shorts and short sleeves. Although very expensive by Polish standards, hire a guide to show you into the forest (required), and enjoy their insight into plants and animals of the forest. Unlikely to...More

This forest is wonderful for nature lovers. A group of us spent three days in and around it in May, following a local guide who knew his stuff. We saw a wide variety of birds, and lots of interesting pond life in the hollows. We...More

The Bialowieza forest is being decimated by state-sponsored indiscriminate logging for short-term profit. It is Europe's last piece of primal forest, and home to thousands of vulnerable species. Please do not reward Poland's far-right money-obsessed government and its environmentally catastrophic policies with tourist cash.

With a little bit of planning and asking for hints from the locals, it's almost guaranteed tat anyone is able to spot real wild bisons in their natural environment. We spotted them early in the morning of our last day in the town, and the...More

This is a remarkable place. For what it means, for the landscape, for the bisons... Whether you are a nature lover or not, this should be a place on your bucket list!

We had the privilege of being guided through the restricted area of this beautiful forest, but not before we managed to get up close and personal with two male bison. Our guide was excellent and knew just where to take us. It was 9.15am and...More

Do any of the tours provide transportation? I have seen some that offer a guide who rides in your car, but I would like to visit without bringing a car.

Hi Curtis. We hired a guide and he took us in his car to the entrance of the restricted area of the forest and from there on foot of course. We were staying at a Hotel Zubrowka and he net us there.
Hi there could anyone recommend the best way to get to the forest from Warsaw and options of staying in the area? We are thinking of spending a couple of days in and around the forest. Guided tours seem to vary in price so wondered which would be the best?
