Boats

Lots of boats, it's interesting to see all these boats from different countries and how they are similar, even though they are made in different continent.

Amazing feat of craftsmanship. You can imagine the ship coming into harbor 400 years ago and being off-loaded with this marvel.

The maritime museum of Gdansk is located on noth side of the harbour. A small ferry connects the two sides. The exhibitions are very good set up and covers the maritime history from ancient time, up til today.

Our least favourite of the three museums - housed in a beautiful black and white painted building oppose the Crane. Reconstructions of various ships and displays about shipbuilding. More suited for those with a particular interest in maritime history than casual tourists, particularly since there wasn't a lot of English on the displays.

I highly recommend visiting this museum, even if (like me) you have no particular interest in ships. Everything is well presented, with information in English available on laminated sheets. It's worth bearing in mind the museum is spread over several sites, so you need to plan your day according to the varying opening hours. There are four sections: - The... More

Both the part in the crane towers and in the medieval warehouses across the river (by ferry) are wonderful museums, full of good historical material, models, pictures, and Gothic parts of the building. The crane displays also explain how the Gdansk crane works well. Enjoyed both parts very much -- well worth even more time than we spent.

Very cheap for how much you get. Some great exhibitions and well laid out. Was very quiet for us. Some great interactive attractions and well explained with multi language booklets throughout. Ferry included as is the huge ship. A must see.

We went there in winter seasons but still the Soldek was opened. There were couple of options and different prices. We took "whole pack" which gave us access to the all maritime exhibits including the little ferry across the river, and it all cost 23pln for my girlfriend who is working and 13pln for me as a student. They also... More

I'll start by saying we went in winter, out of season. The Soldek was closed and we only could do the museum on the 'old town' side of the river. I'm not really sure how we paid (slight language barrier), but we got tickets to all 3 floors individually - each floor containing its own exhibition. For us two adults... More

The museum has different locations. We went with kids to the maritime culture center. It is small (1 floor) and organized per visit slot (every hour meaning you cannot enter as you want). When you are in, it is very fun for the kids and as well interesting for the adults. We spent great time there!
