We spent 5 days in Gdansk. It is quite compact and easily walkable. Lots of dining options. Plenty of local sites and attractions. Easily one of the best cities to visit in Poland.

We went by minibus and we're dropped off so no real idea. If you do not mind a long walk there are plenty of places outside the town.
