As in the case of Tugendhat you have to plan ahead. You can not visit unaccompanied. You may be able to join a tour in Czech. It feels like you are considered a threat to the precious building and garden. Most rooms are empty anyway....More

Hidden in a small quiet street, set in a wonderfully designed garden is a gem of modernist architecture, a villa designed by an architect of Slovak origin who designed the house for himself and his family.

Very nice walk from the city center - about 40 min. You will see really nice villas. The park near the villa is also very nice. As well as the villa

The early-20th cent. villa has been nicely restored. It contains little original furniture, but the structure itself is original and likeable. There was a good, well-informed guide and also an interesting temporary exhibition of young textile designers.

Lovely villa in a peaceful part of town. We enjoyed the walk there, spotting interseting architceture as we went. The villa itself is not spectacular like Villa Tugendhat, but well worth visiting

House of Slovak architect Jurkovic full of history, worth visiting if you know who he was and is his heritage.
