Friendly for Brno residents and for visitors too - lot of cafes and restaurants, KFC and McDonalds for fast food lovers, easy to have a sit and having a rest. Nowadays nice and cool XMas market.

Except for the activity around the rather strange clock/war memorial, during the day this could be any other square, with fast food restaurants and cafes. In the evening though, the pace slows down, and the bars and restaurants with lanterns and blankets create a cosy...More

My hotelin Brno was located just off the mains square so I had ample time to wander around and explore the square. The first thing I noticed was this rocket like thing that apparently tells the time. I learned that each day at 11am the...More

The Freedom Square may not be as stylish as some of the squares of Prague, but it has it's own charm and is a great place to have a local (black) beer and see life pass by.

The "clock" on the square that looks like a rocket (locals call it somewat different name though) is the great meeting point. If you arrive separately, meet there, then it's easy to find a place to eat or take a tram (stops at the square)...More
