Terezin was a concentration camp, but not really a death camp in that it didn’t have a gas chamber. Jews in Prague were transported to Terezín as a ghetto in WWII. From there, if they were unlucky, they were shipped east to Auschwitz or Birkenau...More

Thank you for your visit. Yes Terezín was not an extermination camp but especially because of its propaganda role it was a unique and on od the keyest part of Holocaust.

But after visiting Terezin and walking in the footsteps of the victims the Holocaust is no longer a theoretical human disaster. Do it!

This is such a powerful and emotional place to visit, and Pavel was probably the most passionate and informative guide we have experienced. He made the whole experience come to life, and something we will never forget.

This trip to visit this work camp was easily one of many highlights of the river cruise of Eastern Europe. The Ghetto Museum which was included in this visit was also remarkable! Though a sobering place to visit and learn about it is important for...More

We took public transportation from Prague, and it was very easy to do so. There is a bus that leaves Nadrazi Holesovice station at 10:00 AM, and multiple afternoon ones returning to Prague at least hourly in the afternoon. Take the 2nd Terezin stop to...More

Dear Sandra, on behalf of the Terezin Memorial let me thank you for your visit and your helpful words. Except the Ghetto, there is also the Small Fortress, former Gestapo prison, where visitors can take a guided tour too. Thank you once again.

We had an excellent guided tour of the former concentration camp. It is quite stark, especially on a cloudy day. Catch the short free film.

Everything is very well preserved. Almost no changes made since it was used as a concentration camp. The entrance fee is 220 koruna (combined ticket including the museum).

It was 1500 CKZ. They only take cash. Well worth the extra. No more than 8 people. You are picked up from your hotel and returned back there. We went to a restaurant to eat, but wasn't expensive.
