The area
Neighbourhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

The original crawling babies from the TV Tower
The sculptor David Cerny created giant crawling babies to be placed on the TV Tower in Zizkov. However, while these were seen as good pieces of art, they were ultimately deemed structurally unstable. So they were taken down and more structurally sound replicas put on the tower in their place. The original statues were placed along the River Vltava and can be seen and wandered about by tourists on the river bank.

    Playful sculptures
This sculpture of three giant crawling babies is located in the beautiful Kampa Park next to the Mala Strana quarter. The bronze sculptures are made by Czech sculptor David Cerny. More contemporary art can be found in the Kampa Museum next to the sculpture.

A little odd, but oh so cool
Who would have thought statues of crawling babies with barcodes for faces were that interesting. The statues were definitely a point of interest and it appears families with children had a lot of fun posing on them. I mean me too…just not on them. Free

I wanted to have a look at these as there are a few David Cerny statues in and around Prague.
They were a lot bigger than I thought they would be.
I had to Google what the faces were on these statues and apparently they are slot machine faces, go figure.
Still, they are odd and quirky and bit of fun to see if you are in the area. I did like everyone else and jumped on the back of one for a photo. Good fun.

Visited after breakfast nearby and worth a look
Situated in a nice park
Go look if you're in the area and have a wander through the streets back to Charles Bridge

We passed this while strolling through Prague. It definitely draws your attention. Quite bizarre no doubt but also interesting.

Came across these by chance. Very strange and somewhat amusing. I wouldn’t go out my way to find them but it’s a nice walk if you do!

It is unique bigger than we thought. Good place to take photos, but if you want to go near to them you have to step on sand. When we were there it was raining heavly so there was mud everywhere.

These statues are the only ugly things I’ve seen in Prague!
Came across them in Kampa Park the other day. Not sure why they are cluttering up an otherwise pleasant area. Ugly, uglier, ugliest - take your pick!

The riverbank is obscured by three giant bronze statues of babies with no faces crawling in a park. There is nothing more to say.
