Good Bus Station and Average Underground Station
Jun 2019
The Florenc bus station is excellent but the underground Metro station is average. We spent four nights at Hotel Flerenc in May 2019. We exchanged money at Florenc Bus Station with good exchange rate. There is a good supermarket at Florenc Metro Station. There are trams and buses there. We took the RegioJet bus to the airport.

WARNING: Awful Treatment of Unsuspecting Tourists
Jan 2019 • Friends
My friends and I left the bus and went to buy a metro ticket. Our ride had been more than fourteen hours long and we were exhausted. We bought the tickets and went down the escalator to the platform area. Unfortunately, probably due to exhaustion, we missed the ticket validation machine and the sign that stated that it's required to validate the ticket. There's not a major city I've visited that allows for people to get into the platform area without ticket validation. The platform area should be segregated and one should be able to get into it only through a dedicated point of entry, which can be done only by validating the ticket. In Prague's metro system, one can freely enter the platform area without validating the ticket, almost as if the system was designed to milk the unsuspecting tourists out of their hard-earned cash. Once these "ticket officers" see that you're a bit confused, perhaps trying to understand which line should you use or carrying a few bags, they will jump at you like vampires. Even if you try reasoning with them, they will disregard all your remarks, no matter how rational they are, and focus on one thing and one thing only - milking you of that sweet, sweet cash of yours. Moreover, once we'd paid the 800 CZK fine, we didn't even get the receipt. Of course, we should have been more careful, but this type of treatment, considering how awfully the system is designed, seems unacceptable to me. I will share my concerns with the city's administration. Prague is really wonderful, but if its administration does not address my concerns, at least with a response explaining the reasoning behind this design, I know our group will actively recommend not visiting the city to anyone who is interested in doing it. If Prague wants to be considered a city of the 21st century, they should promptly redesign their underground transportation system and treat their tourists with a bit more care and respect. After all, there are other cities in Central Europe just as charming and beautiful as Prague, but who treat their tourists with a lot more empathy.

BTW, be especially careful if you're a smoker. Smoking at the Florenc bus station is forbidden. They have dedicated police just for charging the fines for smoking. I'm not even kidding. And from what I've heard, these fines are even higher than what we paid.

The main problem for me was to buy metro/underground tickets. At the entrance there are tickets machines, but accept only cash. I came from the bus, after hours of journey from the opposite side of the continent and had to drag my luggage last two miles, because ticket machines accept only cash and only coins in local currency, not even banknotes!
Be aware.

Took a Bus From Prague to Brno verse renting a car and driving 2 plus hours.
Aug 2016 • Couples
Husband has work to do in Brno, we found this Bus terminal on line and our hotel staff confirmed. He encouraged us to go to the bus terminal the night before to purchase tickets and we were glad we did. We took a taxi and it wasn't far from the hotel. Taxi driver waited for us. Husband was in and out after buying our tickets.
The Bus was pretty full. A lot of younger backpackers but a few families and even a few persons dressed in business attire.

It cost $32.00 US for the both of us. Which we thought was great ! Large areas under the bus for luggage. My husband took his lap top bag on board but it was too large to fit under the seat and also for above storage so he took it back off bus and they stored it without problems.

We have ridden bus from Munich to Ljubljana, Slovenia several times in past. This bus line was Regiajet and they have staff that comes thru frequently offering free hot beverages.
Also they have items you can purchase.
I enjoyed the free pair of headsets and movie. They had several offers in English. Mostly Czech language.
Watching the movie helped make the time go quickly.
Occasionally looking out at the beautiful land.
The driver was very skilled often I forgot I was even on the bus.
The young man who took our tickets and offered drinks, gave out and re-collected the head sets at end of trip was very nice and spoke great English !

Before you board your bus they have a convince store you can purchase drinks/snacks/sandwiches right at the front entry.

Highly recommend especially For the price savings.

Beware of greedy policemen
Dec 2015 • Couples
I broke the law.
When I arrived to Florenc after 10 hours bus trip, first thing I did was to smoke a cigarette. I didn't notice the sign and I was fakely informed by my friend that you can smoke anywhere in Prague. Anyway, my mistake.
The moment I took the first sip, the policeman appears. He tells me its illegal to smoke here so I put out cigarette, put it in a trash bin and then he asks for my documents. I gave him my documents and he is starting to write a "Pokutu". Tells me that a fee is 5000CZK and if I have this kind of money. Of course I didn't and asked him if we can just admonishment. He refused to do it and told me he can write a bill for 200CZK. I felt like I was used just because I was a tourist and those policemen were just waiting to earn some money on me. Only after my boyfriend came and explained that we are not Roccefellers, and that he already have 2 "pokutas" from other ladies, he left us alone.

Awful! This is not how you should treat tourists. I understand that some places are forbidden to smoke but I didn't kill anybody, I was outdoor and two words like "No smoking" should be enough.

Thieves everywhere and the police station is closed
Oct 2015 • Solo
Its not a tourist attraction, just a large bus stop. The tourist info speaks good english and there is free wifi around. I was told that there are camera surveillance only within the bus terminal area but the exits of the metro are not included. I got my backpack pick pocketed while exiting the metro when somebody asked for directions. Went to the police station but it was closed so don't rely on it when something happens. I would recommend making a call to the police instead.

Good place :)
Aug 2015 • Friends
Not sure why this is there as an attraction. The metro station feeds two metro lines and the main bus station of Prague is also here near the metro station.so you are bound to touch this place in your trip.also the prague railway station is at a distance of 15 min walk from here (better take the metro to the station if you want to go there).
