It's a modern building designed in 1996 by the american architect frank O. Gehry. On top there is a beautiful overview of the town with an external terrace of a bar. The external building remember two dancers and it is usually called by the citizen, Ginger and Fred.

Saw it on the internet and just wanted to see it for real because it is soooo different. A walk down the river from Charles Bridge and you automatically come across it. It has an intriguing architecture and very different from the norm you see in Prague other wise.

This is a nice piece of architecture, but it's pretty far from everything and it's a small building when you get up close to it. I thought the neighboring house, which was Vaclav Havel's home for many years and a classic Czech style, to be about as interesting.

Beautiful building you can see by taking the road along the river to go to Charles Bridge... I recommend it because it is a pleasant walk and on the dx side I advise you to stop at a small garden with a nice obelisk, made up of ancient statues.

It is nice. It is attraction. That's true but Prague has 100+ things to see before this building. Just for passing by and taking pic.

The architecture is undoubtedly impressive and quirky, especially given the nature of most of Prague's other buildings. However, beyond the initial surprise and impressive curves, there isn't much else to be seen.

It was just an amazing experience to witness it. Being a structural engineer myself I had special interest in that and did not get disappointed a bit.

An essential part of any trip to Prague. The house is so beautiful and located right off the river. The dancing house restaurant, however, is NOT recommended at all.

Nice walk along the river to the dancing house for a picture opportunity. No clear view though due to the tram electricity lines in direct site, but a very odd building indeed. Looks like it's been crushed with a heavy weight! Offices apparently. Shaped to look like a pose from Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Quite effective I suppose and... More

I love this building. Grab a tram or walk down from the Charles Bridge area so you can get a shot of it from a distance. Its captivating to stand back and imagine what it was like to design and then build. Hopefully you have some time to go up top for a coffee

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
