Since 1999, this tiny boutique in the upper castle area has offered a large, hand-picked assortment of genuine Czech and European toys and gifts, including wooden toys, wind-up toys, art supplies, model cars, puppets and marionettes. It`s a little hard to find, tucked under an arcade near the Loreto Square, so look for the wooden rocking horse above the door. Owner Ivan Karhan will be happy to help you select the perfect memento or gift for a loved one. English spoken.

This is an amazing toy shop full of all the things that any child (even a grown up) would want. It was like returning to my childhood all over again. Wooden toys adorn the walls, shelves and cabinets of this small but very inviting shop. Not only wooden toys but old metal cars, meccano (well the czech version) and amazing... More

The rocking horse toy shop is a real hidden gem, a tiny shop that will make you want to step in and go back in time. Seeing the over doze of the use of plastic in children s toys this was a pleasant change. Ivan, the owner was patient and accommodated all my questions. Highly recommended for those who support... Small shop with great variety of wooden toys for any age - from babies and toddlers toys to complex brain teasers. The prices are very reasonable.

This is a good-value specialist toy shop selling what seem like locally made toys, many wooden. The owner was very helpful and let me 'play with' a pull-along clacky crocodile perfect for my granddaughter. Nice wooden building bricks too at various prices. This is much more reasonably priced than you would expect from its location at the top of the... More

Thank you! You are right - we have only locally made toys ( local meaning mostly Czech, with some German and Italian.) We hope your granddaughter was happy with her pull-toy, and thank you for taking the time to write! More

If you visit Prague and wants some souvenirs wooden dolls that look genuine and not mass produced, this is the place! When I walked in the door, I genuinely wished that I was a very rich kid. I bought some nice rocking angels as Christmas decoration, but there were so much fun toys. Dolls, music boxes, old fashion cars, painted... More

This small shop is bursting with toys traditional and modern, but it's equally worth visiting to experience the irrepressible spirit of the owner, Ivan, and his staff. The store specializes in traditional handmade toys as well as puppets, hand-carved animals, and Christmas ornaments, but you'll find wind-up toys, miniature Skodas, and a range of other surprising and rare items. There's... More

Thank you for your kind and perceptive review. We are fortunate to be in a region with a long tradition of good craftsmanship, and to be able to help carry this tradition forward. As much as anything else, running the shop is a labor of love, and it is very nice to have this appreciated. More

Situated in the middle of tourist attractions, but it is NOT a tourist trap at all. Stop in to check out locally made products (hard to find toys anywhere that are not made in China!). The toys are all of high-quality, made in the CP or Germany. Yet all are very, very reasonably, which made it so easy to buy... More

We were thrilled to find this quaint toy shop when we visited Prague last weekend. It has a wonderful selection of wooden toys, metal cars and of course "the Mole". Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
