We had a look around as it was a free attraction with the Prague city cards and the external facade was beautiful. Inside it's very disappointing. Very bland rooms, especially compared to all the surrounding attractions, and only one floor of exhibits. Nothing interactive so don't bring the kids. It for love your Chinese and Japanese art then you will... More

We had no idea what was inside the Kinsky Palace. The outside looks stunning, but if you think you are going to look around a Palace you are not. You get to see one floor where all the exhibits are. They are quite interesting to see and vary in their ages. We enjoyed looking around. We were able to get... More

This beautiful building, located in the central town square, features numerous exhibitions. Unfortunately, during our visit, it was being renovated in between exhibitions, so we could only admire it from outside and walk in to find bare walls. Still, a beautiful building.

Located on the Old Town Square just in front of the monument, Palais Kinsky is Prague’s National Gallery. Palais Kinsky is only one of the locations of the Prague’s National Gallery and this location houses the Art of Asia permanent collection.

We love this French artist. So we appreciated a lot his exhibition at the Kinsky Palace. Many masterpieces. Rather traditional, actually: a lot to read (English and Czech) and no interactive things. We also visited, at the same palace, the permanent exhibition of Asian ancient art. Very central.

Temporary exhibition of Henri Rousseau art and few pieces of other artists. I've enjoyed this nice exhibition as it is easy and digestible art display which does not take too much off your precious time.

This is one of several museums in the system. We stopped in because it was right at the Old Town. Some pieces are of interest, but the overall quality is not high. If you are into Asian art, this would be an acceptable museum while you are in the area, but if it is not your cup of tea, skip... More

My friend and I decided to stop into the Kinsky Palace because we received free entry through our Prague Card. The Asian art on display did not disappoint. We had problems with the employees though... First the lady at the front desk was an absolute jerk to my friend who was asking a simple question about our ticket, the lady... More

We arrived at the reception and received our tickets from the lady behind the desk who spoke quite good English, I asked her what this ticket gives us access to before I left the reception counter and she told me to out my bag in a locker, and I asked her again, thinking she heard me wrong or misunderstood my... I didn't go into the place, but passed it by many a time while I was in Prague, looks particularly spectacular at night, great place for a photo, really an eye catcher.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
