This is not a large museum and the exhibits are on the first floor. It covers Prague's prehistory as well as history. Apart from the more usual exhibits, there are some startling pieces, especially the C17th locking mechanisms. There are also some splendid panoramic maps...More

Would recommend visitors of Prague to head to the museum early in their trip. It's nice to have background information on the city, and all of the information is naturally specific to Prague alone, rather than the whole Czech Republic as other museums do. It...More

I found four (count 'em!) people at this museum who were capable of smiling and being a pleasant, kind person. That is probably the grand total in this entire town since everyone else I came in contact with in four days had a dour expression...More

The museum is just the right size. It provides a good overview of Prague History. The staff were very friendly. The scale model of the city is worth the visit. It is also easy to find right next to the Florenc subway station.

Very good history museum with interesting displays on various subjects. I most enjoyed information on the development of different neighborhoods. Don't miss the huge relief map. Set in a beautiful old building.

This was a great find as it is not really prominent in many of the attractions list. The exhibits are interesting and it was good to explore the pre-history of Prague. Langweil's cardboard model of Prague over 20m2 is well worth a visit. Admission is...More

Worth visiting to see a handmade cardboard map of Prague. There are 2 main floors with some interesting exibits. It is small and can be viewed in an hour. Cheap to get in. Friendly staff. Clean toilets. Near to the metro and trams.

Although the building is huge, the actual museum is quite small and the exhibits only a few. We expected to see more of the city's tradition and history. In total it was very interesting though and Langweil's City Model worth to be seen. Staff were...More
