The park is in reality not very well kept. However, it has some sites where the views of Prague are stunning and from which you can take the classic pictures of the bridges over the Vltava in parallel. You can arrive to the park by walking from the Rudolfino crossing the bridge over the Vltava or by walking from the royal gardens behind the Castle.
It is free. It is mainly visited by locals. There are not tour groups; it is very quiet and mainly visited by independent travelers. I suggest to visit the park at sunset and on a clear day.

Letna Park is properly one of the less well know spot but definite worth a visit place.
From the park, you will have the perfect view of most of the bridges along the river. Also it is not full of tourists and you can enjoy a slow and leisure walk along the park.

This is a huge park overlooking the Vltava river and many bridges of Prague. Its very photogenic. If you are looking for panaromic pictures, this is the place to go. Since, it is on a hill, we decided to take the easier way. We took a tram from Malastranska square. You can take either tram no 18 or 20 (north bound). Get down at Hradcanska. Letna Park entrace is just 5-7 minutes walk from this tram stop. This walk is completely flat, there is no uphill walk. However bear in mind this entrance of the Letna Park is opposite to the Vltava river side. So to get the famous views, you need to walk the entire width of the park to get to the other side. It should not take more than 15 minutes. There are 3-4 particular places from where you will get unobstructed view of the river, bridges and the city skyline. These are easy to find. While returning, we just came down from the hill through one of the roads going down towards the river. Down below, there is a tram stop cechuv most from where you can take a tram if you need to.
Make it one of the must see places in Prague, as it wont be that crowded and you will get a refreshingly nice views of the entire city, yet being within the city limits. Entrance is completely free.

A must do when touring Prague slightly and pleasantly off the beaten track, well worth a quite morning or afternoon walk.

We were in Prague for a stag do, and the bar was loads of fun, good priced drinks. It was a really nice environment and our waitress Cristina was great, she got us talking to another group who we made friend with and ended up joining us.
The music was great and we had some good cocktails. Cristina made the night really special by having fun with the group and being really friendly.
Great night, too bad! Loved it

This place must be absolutely stunning in the late spring and early summer. It’s very pretty even just now, with most of the trees and shrubs still bare.
The park is incredibly popular with all age groups: families, couples, and solos. Also, a lot of doggies (on leashes, of course) and joggers.
There are several viewpoints that overlook the Vltava River and dozens of benches elsewhere on which to sit and soak up the atmosphere.
Notable features in the park include:
1. Hanavský Pavilion - originally built as the representative pavilion of the Komárov Ironworks for the Prague Jubilee Exhibition in 1891; now, it’s a pricey restaurant with stunning views of Prague’s bridges.
2. The Prague Metronome - in Letná Park since 1991, where a monstrous Stalin monument used to be; this sculpture represents the relentless passage of time and is a cautionary reminder of times past.
The major irritants are the skateboarders, the empty booze bottles (broken), and the ugly graffiti. But … the park is big enough to escape those irritants.

Hello, I'll be visiting in early November with two elderly parents and a 20 month old toddler. The main reason for visiting this park is to get a good view (near Hanau Pavilion?). May I know what is the best route to take to minimize the climbing?

We walked up and maybe to much for elderly parents. Take the tram. They have the best system I have ever seen. You never have to wait long. The park is something you want to visit.

Hi
Does anyone know if the park / beer garden would be a good place to visit on New Year’s Eve?
Thanks

Probably not, unless it is on your way home from a pub or a dance with significant other and you want to have romantic first look on Prague and Vltava bridges in 2019

Hi - in my honest opinion, I would stay in and around the City, the park is ok, but it has its down sides, graffiti, homeless people, etc!
There are plenty of nice places to go instead of here.
