Once a royal city (14th century) there are a number of gems in the historic centre of Kutna Hora. The medieval city is well-preserved; displaying the buildings that symbolized its great wealth. The medieval lay out is well worth visiting.

Photographs don’t pay this justice
Mar 2020
We booked the tour to Kutna Hora via our hotel with Premiant City Tours which they picked us up at the hotel and took us to pick up our guide near Hamleys Store and we also paid for the tour at one of the small booths just before the guide boarded the bus.

The bus was very clean but the driver spoke very little English which did not matter as the guide spoke perfect English. The guides name sounded like Michala and whilst travelling Michala gave us a very interesting talk about the history of Prague and Kutna Hora. Our first stop was the Ossuary (Bone Chapel at Kutna Hora) and as we walked to the Chapel Michala explained the rules while we were there as they have stopped people taking photographs inside qand the guides have to talk very quietly. The photographs you see on line etc do not pay the chapel justice as it was very eerie but very interesting and Michala made sure we did not miss any of the hidden features.

We walked back to the bus after we had exhausted everything about the Bone chapel and then on to the Cathedral of St Barbara and once again Michala gave us a lot of information and some free time to explore. After the cathedral we walked through the town of Kutna Hora and took some nice panoramic photos and again we were furnished with some interesting facts about the town and buildings.

Finally we were given free time to have some lunch and a drink which we visited a small square but had some Great tea and cake.

All in all a great day and a very knowledgeable and professional guide.

Kutna hora the most unexpected and beautiful place
Feb 2020
I visited Kutna hora on my 2nd day to Prague( which for some reason was a let down after Vienna) I took a train from Pargue HLN station to Kutna hora miesta, and then took a train from platform no. 1 to Kutna hora interiors, now when booking train from Prague buy the ticket to main Kutna Hora and not just Kutna Hora HLN, after taking the train to interior of Kutna Hora mesto do not get down with the mad rush at Ossuary and if you do so be ready to feel bad about your decision, I got down at 2nd station which is also the last and did a walk to St. Barbara cathedral, it was from barbosa street, don't forget to buy a souvenir which is damn cheap, then we did a walk upwards to Barabara cathedral, and spent quality time outside, do not spend money on going inside we have churces in Prague for free with same interiors, then we ate at a near by restaurant(which was reasonably priced and had amazing and reasonably priced food) overlooking the cathedral, then we caught a bus no. 15 which took us to Ossuary, which was good too, don't depend on google maps for bus numbers ask the driver, we then got down at ossuary , paid for it got inside and out in 20 minutes, then we took a walk to HLN station, and bought ticket back to Prague, don't panic if there is no one at Cash office she comes to her desk 20 minutes before train starts.

A day trip from prague. The one hour journey both ways is worth it. The church decorated, and holding thousands of bones collected from a black plague burial area in 4 pyramid piles. It was a pity that photographs of this were not encouraged.

Nearby the saint Barbara cathedral is another of Pragues ornate buildings. Plenty of architectural features throughout.

Easy to do it all in one day
Oct 2019
We rented a car for 2 days while in Prague (easy to pick up at train station and park overnight at hotel) and took side trips to Krivoklat, Ruckl Glassworks, and Kutna Hora. You can also reach Kutna Hora with public transportation or do a day tour that will pick you up at your hotel. Either way, it is easy to see and do everything in Kutna Hora in a day. We parked the car for free at Wenceslas Square (Saturday) and easily walked everywhere. We went to St. Barbara's church, Stone house, Plague column, Stone fountain, Church of St. John of Nepomuk, and even took the Silver mine tour. We drove the car to the Bone Church, but there is a public bus that goes there for those without a car. It was a wonderful relaxing day outside of Prague.

Great day trip
Dec 2019
We took a day trip to Kutna Hora from Prague and it was lovely to get out of the city for a day and enjoy the quiet and beauty of this village. It was easy to access by train and well worth the visit.

Very Underrated Town.
Oct 2019
Kutna Hora is famous for it's Bone Church but really the town has a lot more to offer than that. From it's beautful St Barbara's church to it's lovely old town this is a very nice place to spend a day.
