We went to see the castle and hunting trophies and ended up with all that plus a glimpse into the home life of a famous historical figure. The hunting hobby of Franz Ferdinand was interesting, though seemingly excessive, and was impressive in its sheer volume....More

My wife and I did tours 3 & 4 (English). Guide was great; very interesting tour; thoroughly enjoyed it. Easy walk from Benešov u Prahy train station (take the shortcut though the woods). Could not make reservation on-line. E-mailed reservations (rezervace@zamek-konopiste.cz), they were great and...More

This was a great little castle with amazing history attached (eg., Franz Ferdinand). It was very well kept/restored and preserved. The weaponry/armoury collection is fascinating (and I'm not particularly into weapons). This is definitely worth dropping by to see. It could easily pass as something...More

The castle itself is impressive on the hill. There was a concert going on on the grounds. There was a person teaching archery near the entrance after climbing up the hill. Lively and fun looking. The owner and his wife were assassinated in Sarajevo, the...More
