On a main road from Belgium to Somme area and easily missed which would be a shame. Commemorates over 4000+ Indian soldiers and labourers who were killed during the First World War. Once again very peaceful full of birdsong

Nice memorial although it is right on top of a roundabout on a main road, decent amount of parking close to the Portuguese cemetery

Commemoration to the Indian soldiers who came to Europe as part of the British Indian Army in the First World War. Influenced by Indian architecture and art. Despite the road outside inside is calm and quiet

A stunning memorial, beautifully maintained. A bit difficult to get to without a car but if you like a hike, take a train to Le Bassee then walk the 6 and a half kilometres each way.

Very moving memorial and speaks volumes for the British Empire at the time when you realise so many men remembered on the memorial were 'followers' and not even soldiers!More
