This is a unique building in Newcastle due to its shape, and has been there for as long as I can remember. It's showing its age and needs a bit of clean and refresh. Still worth seeing if you're in the area.

The Newcastle City Council building is an unusually-shaped building. It is located next to the Civic Precinct, and across the road from Civic Park. It is home to the offices for much of Newcastle Local Council. I would say that the only attraction for the tourist passing by is to look and admire the interesting architectural shape of the building.... More

It just so happened that I had been to Wellington in New Zealand and seen the “Beehive” building attached to the Parliament. There is just a passing similarity with the Newcastle Council Building.
