We live about 4km from the park but it's a bit far to walk there, walk around and then walk home so we drove up and paid for a yearly local pass. $22 covers Avon, John Forrest and Walyunga national parks for local residents. Now we can drive up there and go for walks at the back end of the... More

Entry fee at station, put your money in an envelope and place it in a box. Tried the eagle view walk - sign in at the ranger station before leaving. Tried it clockwise but it seems all the signages were much more catered for the anti-clockwise walker. Had some issue finding the trail from the car park. Otherwise nice walk... More

It was ok here nothing to rave about not a lot to see or do! No waterfalls all water had dried up! Best thing about it was the friendly Roos at the tavern but otherwise waste of a journey!

After a whole week of rain, we decided to spend a day there trying to catch the waterfall. But much to our disappointment, there wasn't much waterfall but we just enjoyed the beautiful day out bushwalking and discovering. There's lots of car park available, toilet facilities are maintained and a small kiosk. Nice place for group gatherings either for a... More

John Forrest is a great place to get away from it all but still close enough so not to be stuck in a car for hours. Entry is priced per vehicle and annual membership is a bargain. There are a number of walk trails, barbecue and picnic benches. There is a pub that sells drinks and snacks. It also does... More

Hadn't been to this park for maybe 20+years. A lot of infrastructure is in need of repair such as bridges near the old swimming dam. Lots of tourists enjoying the semi'-tame kangaroos, parrots and ducks near the tavern. I even saw a bandicoot... The park is great for families who enjoy walking or cycling the tracks.

Often mountain bike or run here but this place always amazes me. Streams and waterfalls, to numerous flora and fauna and never crowded. Nice tavern and not far from the Parkerville pub.

Park is located just 30 min drive from Perth. No need to pay the entry fee when you park at the corner of Morrison Rd and Pechey Rd. Take te heritage trail, just 4 km to the tavern. Waterfalls and old railway tunnel on the road. Wild kangaroos come to be fed close to tavern, lovely to watch them. We... More

As I don't drive, I can only rely on the public transport. I checked the Transperth and it gave me instructions to get there. The bus driver was not sure where to let me alight and so alighted just outside the scenic drive. I noticed that it was a 10km drive and not too sure whether if take that route,... More

The national park is nice. There is ample parking and plenty to do and see. There is also a tavern on the grounds along with bbq facilities and good clean toilets. My favourite out of the multiple walking trails is the eagle view walk. I often run this loop. It's 16km start to finish and very hilly and rocky. Wildlife... More
