NewGrange Falconry is a fantastic experience with the most beautiful birds. We spent hours with Golden Eagle, Owls, Hawks and Falcons. It was a hands on experience with birds, very much at ease and Brian’s passion and kindness for the birds is obvious.
Romeo and Scott, Falcons are majestic and to see them up close and in flight against the stunning backdrop of the Irish landscape was a privilege. We walked with sibling Harris Hawks who were a joy to interact with.
Barbara’s tea brack was delicious and a very welcome treat on the day.
The whole experience was an absolute delight, to spend time in good company was an absolute pleasure.
I would highly recommend this, many thanks to Brian for an exceptional day.

July of 2022 we visited many places in Ireland. One of our highlights was meeting Brian McCann. He spent time imparting his knowledge and getting to know each of us. His many birds were amazing and while I was hesitant, he soon allayed my fears and gave me the experience of a lifetime. Thank you Brian for sharing your passion with us. I highly recommend this unique experience.

We had such a wonderful time meeting and getting to know the birds. Brian was funny, knowledgeable and made this bucket list experience truly wonderful! It was so interesting being to see each of the birds personalities and understanding the kind of care each requires.
Thank you Newgrange Falconry for being a highlight of my trip to Ireland!

We booked a falconry experience with Brian while staying at Castle Leslie. You can also book also book with him direct, which we'll def do the next time.
It was amazing from start to finish and the array of beautiful extremely well looked after birds he has was truly amazing.
Golden eagles, falcons, owls and hawks and we were able to interact with the birds and also got to try falconry ourselves.
Brian is a very nice man and totally made our day and our year!!
Thank you so much.

We booked falconry while staying at Castle Leslie. It was an amazing experience. Brian is friendly, enthusiastic, articulate and so knowledgeable about his birds (owls, hawks and eagles) - we learnt so much from him about the birds, their habits and the environment. The time literally flew by. The birds are fascinating - we felt very lucky to see them up close and handle the owls and hawks - they are awesome creatures. The experience of flying Buddy and Tina the Harris hawks was spectacular -- I hadn't really known what to expect and I'm so glad we booked the session. It's a great activity for teenagers. It's also a super experience for pre-teens -- especially if they have any interest in nature, animals or Harry Potter! I'd been expecting an hour but it was more like 1hr 45 - 2hrs. Thank you Brian & birds!

I had reached out to Newgrange Falconry with an idea and they were more than happy to help.
On the day we met with Brian and he brought myself and my girlfriend up onto a beautiful stretch of land to get a wide view of the coastline and into the gorgeous landscape of county Meath.
We were introduced to a pair of spectacular Golden Eagles. From there we were able to hold a few owls and were given lots of information about them. We have some amazing photos of them perched on our hands. After this we got to meet a Falcon; unfortunately the wind picked up slightly and it was not to best day to fly this particular bird, but last and certainly not least was the hawk.
My plan with Brian came into effect; the Hawk had an engagement ring in a small pouch and flew to my hand, from there I was able to propose.
As a celebration Brian produced homemade Christmas cake and mulled wine for us.
I arrived with a girlfriend, but went home with a fiancée - I would highly recommend it.
Such an enjoyable experience. Thank you Brian

Got to experience all that Brian and Newgrange Falconry had to offer on a recent stay in Castle Leslie, Monaghan.
It truly was a fantastic experience to be able to get so hands on with all the impressive owls, eagles and falcons. Brian was a natural, very friendly, putting us at ease and has a great ability to relay his vast knowledge. A super way to spend a morning , highly recommended.

Hi! We are traveling to this area in March and heard great things about this experience. My enquiry is - is this an experience! We have an older guest that can do some walking but nothing like the other Falconry was offering of an hour. Anyone available to share their experience? Thank you!

I can’t seem to find the hours of operation. From the looks of it, they seem to be an on call/appointment basis. Can anyone confirm?
I already sent the owner this question just a second ago but if there’s a chance they’ll see this, I’m requesting it here too.

Richard is correct - it depends on if you go to his location or do it somewhere else (such as a hotel) and how many birds you want. If you e-mail him directly through his website he is pretty good about responding!
