Our family loved watching the surfers at Domes. We are used to surfing at home in NS, but the waves here are incredible! No services right on the beach, but there are washrooms nearby in the lighthouse park. We want to come back when the museum in the Dome is finished!

Visited Domes Beach during our first full day in Rincon. Their are two parking lots: one for locals and one for visitors. The morning that we were there the beach and ocean was packed with surfers. We took a walk to the south and north of Domes. To the north of Domes are trails and some beautiful isolated beaches.

Bring a chair or blanket and sit on the beach where you can watch the surfers ride some of the best local waves.

SUMMATION: Odd surfing spot since it usually has wimpy waves suitable for amateurs, but difficult entries and exits for pros. Too dangerous for swimming; no large shells, but many tiny ones; too short for walking and the sand is uncomfortably soft; only good for laying on the beach and watching surfers. NAME: Domes Beach DESCRIPTION: Highland of Lighthouse Park blocks... More

This is a pretty cool area but make sure you have a 4Wd if you want to park in the woods next to the beach. It not, there parking in a lot where you won't get stuck if it rains the beach looks nice and has great waves for surfing. I would not let small children in the water because... More

This is a gorgeous beach - iconic for sure as it is next to a former nuclear plant site! Easy access and lovely for swimming and picnicking.

Leading up to Domes is a huge area of beach access to spending a relaxing week or two away from it all. Parking is readily accessible and plentiful close to the water.

We showed up in the morning , we didn't expect the water to be so rough for swimming - but we stayed quite a long time at the beach taking in the sun and watching the surfers -- there are some places at the beach you can just dip in to refresh and get out --- otherwise it's too rough... More

Domes is a famous surf spot. Highlighted by the closed Nuke Reactor, the palm tree shaded beach is what surfers dream of. The wave breaks right and hollow over the reef here, getting out can be tricky, but it can be done. I have not been here when the waves are flat, but judging by the reef, it looks like... More
