Chiesa interessante X il suo stile romanico longobardo a tre navate. Le volte a crociera sono le più antiche d’Italia. La Chiesa è affiancata da un Battistero costruito tra il 1025 e il 1040. Gli scavi del 1944 portarono alla luce una cripta del tipo ad “oratorio”, forse appartenente ad una fase anteriore della chiesa.
È da ricordare poi che a Lomello nel 590 avvenne il matrimonio tra la regina Teodolinda e il Duca di Torino Agilulfo.

Complesso di impianto romanico , in parte rimaneggiato ed in parte restaurato ma decisamente interessante, con una lunga storia legata alle vicissitudini del territorio lombardo . L'ingresso (3 Euro) è limitato per periodo ed orario, meglio informarsi prima

Una chiesa forse creata da L Diavolo x scommessa? Non si Sa! Di sicuro luogo dove vennero celebrate le Nozze della regina dei Longobardi Teodolinda.
Peccato sia aperta solo il sabato e domenica pomeriggio.

Davvero un piccolo gioiellino, che va valorizzato. La Basilica merita davvero una visita, perchè costituisce uno dei principali esempi di protoromanico in Italia. Sebbene sia possibile fare una visita individuale, consiglio però di farla con la Pro Loco, perchè le guide spiegano molto bene la sua storia (oltre che quella di Lomello), quello che doveva essere il suo aspetto originario, e così via.

La leggenda narra che la chiesa fu costruita dal diavolo in una notte. In realtà qui si celebrarono le nozze della regina longobarda Teodolinda con il duca di Torino Agilulfo. Un autentico tuffo nel passato, da non perdere assolutamente.

non è sui soliti itinerari turistici, ma se passate per la Lomellina è il caso di vare una seppur breve visita. (occorre consultare gli orari di apertura) Bellissimo anche il vicino battistero.
